So to start with, I finished GTA V SP with 100% completion without entering one single cheat code. I don't like to use cheat codes because I feel that interferes with the feeling of the game. I don't go preaching the gospel of it and trying to convert cheaters - I just don't do it.

So first day online I bought 1.125 million dollars since I was waiting for the servers to be up and running. When my character got to rank 5 I bought a nice apartment. I bought some fancy cars, planes, and boats. I got to rank 15 and called it a day. Next day, my car, planes, and boats where gone. My character was level 1 due to server errors. I worked hard to rank the character to 33 and make about 1.8 million dollars from missions, and the next day - characters is completly gone.

I put in two tickets with Rockstar support, also called them. Was told they are working on restoring the characters and lost vehicles. I foolishly believed I would be returned my rank 33 char with the apartment, vehicle, cars, and planes. In the meantime I was working on ranking my second character in hopes that my first would be restored.

So then I got the email that Rockstar was giving everyone 500k....everyone, even if you didn't lose your character. In small tiny paragraph at the bottom of that email was something to the line of, oh and were not restoring chars and property so take the money and be happy. I paid for 1.125 million dollars, I earned close to 2 million dollars....and now all they were going to do was give me 500k for all my loses.

So a crew member of mine told about how he did it, and I figured if Rockstar wasn't going to restore my 1.5 million that still deleted, might as well get it back myself. I also calculated how much it took me to get the 1.8 million per hour and since I had a screenshot of my rank 33 character from the website I know how many hours I spent on him. So I used the method to gain the money back. I now have my apartment back and my cars, planes, and boats.

If Rockstar feels it necessary to ban me, I will take my hard earned money and sue them since I paid for 1.125 million and they think that 500k is ok to give me back. I'm sure many others have paid for GTA$ that was lost and I'd love to see that class-action suit go live. Since Rockstar has made a pretty penny on this game, the lawyers will be lining up to take that case.

I will not be using the system since I have restored what was lost from me. In the future I might buy more GTA$.

So you think you can make a case vs multimillion dollar company? LoooooooL

Kids these days

Yes, because I used REAL money to buy GTA$ which was deleted. If you bought a car and the dealership took it back from you, would you not complain to get it back? The fact that they are multi-million dollar company just makes them a bigger target for lawyers. Class-action suits are very powerful in the USA.

Rockstar stole of me first by losing my 1st character and 400k legit so I just returned the favour and stole back......

DarkxMaterials

I started farming Rooftop Rumble because I saw that Rockstar was nerfing it and I wanted my achievements before they made it a time sink to get. Also, I wanted to get some nice stuff in the game without having to spend real money for it. The two reasons went hand in hand

I cheated for many reasons.

2K medical bills drain the hell out of your money.

Weapons are SO expensive, and their addons.

Car modding takes all your money.

I needed to be able to compete with the level 100s with RPGs and assault rifles with their super cars and super guns.

I wanted to be able to ave FUN with my friends, like holding off cops, which is impossible due to medical costs, and gitchy ass cops.

I didn't farm in too much money, only 500K, and if R* sees this, id rather get wiped then banned. I know I have done wrong, but I had too with the games current state.

Guys just shut the f*ck up about how you didnt glitch. Who gives a f*ck what they do to us.

Reset me ban me cheater pool me. BF4 comes out soon so I will be on that for months.

I have had everything and TBH nothing special. So the white garage looked cool but once you have it it is a f*cking pain to exit as your char takes forever to walk a few metres. Apartment was OK but you spend 99% of your time on the streets. With hindsight I would have just bought a big 10 car garage.

It's not ok to exploit glitches but if they lose your character or data they basically just say.... Sh*t happens

But people who choose to buy money cards because they spend the time that a 'hardcore' gamer chooses to game, they choose to work or socialize or whatever. Do whatever you can and enjoy.

Farming isn't the issue as it's more of a balance problem and rockstar recognizes this.

Okay so by your logic why is okay for Rockstar to charge for in game cash cards. But if i were to accept RMT(real money transfer) to the rights and use of my character that is a violation of EULA and a bannable offense.

The reason its a fine line is because one allows direct money to the company. The other has exploitative potential. Do a google search on Chinese Bot farming and you will see how its an issue.

But to your point if a person is willing to spend money to bypass time, then that also creates a mentality that why buy a few dollars when i can buy a full character with EVERYTHING i already want?

Personally im all for RMT because i wouldnt mind selling some of my MMO grinded characters to players who want to get into the game months or years down the road and just be able to enjoy it, sadly the chinese f*cked everything up by exploiting prisoners and making the whole practice taboo.

Have not had a reason to cheat once, I also don't cheat in multiplayer environments.

Hospital bills have not been an issue. As for items in game, I have the 286k apartment, my Saber modded with everything I have unlocked, just missing the paint scheme I want, but I haven't unlocked it yet. I have all the weapons for my level in my possession and I didnt buy a one. The AK is fully modded and I am currently working on modding out my SMG. Most of the weapons I have no reason to even bother buying a mod for. Oh, and I also have my Elegy modded as much as I can atm.

I have made over 600k, at this time, so yea, not real sure what the rush is to get the "best" stuff was. The excuse I read earlier about wanting to try out the cars to know if they suck has to be one of the worst excuses I have seen, since all vehicles can be tested in singleplayer.

Rockstar have said that Farming is perfectly legitimate. That it is part of the game.

They have also said exploiting a glitch is not part of the game and is considered cheating.

If you cheat you deserve to be punished.

The missions were paying horribly to keep up with expenses of dying and buying ammo. Eventually i had to go into missions with only a couple of clips. Not to mention the stupid prices for gun modifications. A suppressor for the price of a car (real life car that is).

As a avid MMO'er, ther is nothing against farming missions considering you get missions every 5-10 levels, so technically you have to farm missions just to get the next new one. Espcically once you get past 50 where you get only 1-2 new missions every 5 levels.

I see it as Rockstar didn't anticipate any of this at all and thus when we reached high levels, we ran into a brickwall (no new missions past 75). I farmed VD because it was a fun mission with my strategy (i'd throw 2 stickies to clear the first couple of guys, then 2 more to clear the set of walls and finish off the last couple with my gun) and it paid way better than other missions. Then i found Extradition with a friend and we did that mission for an entire morning and afternoon. It paid great and i could improve my flying skill.

Farming takes time, effort, patience and better improves your skill at the game. With VD, i became highly skilled at the cover system, explosives and strategy as you could approach from many angles. Extradition provided me with practice on entering the military base and using the jet.

Glitching all you do is sit at a menu and hit buttons to gain monetary value versus actually put forth an effort.

Finally after the replay is fixed i still find the game fun (i've never seen a million. Closest was 920k before i bought a Entity XF) doing different missions each time and once you get past rank 70, farming won't be needed. I went nearly broke yesterday after buying the entity and installing mods and i managed to claw my way back to at least 400k just doing missions the old fashioned way. Still annoying to get pointless missions like death from above and other low level missions.

Dude at best all you have is a case in small claims court for a refund of the purchase price. An intelligent consumer would simply call rockstar support or better yet Microsoft or Sony and ask for a refund in the form of PSN or MS points for the amount of the cash card since ALL YOUR TRANSACTIONS ARE LOGGED.

Beyond that Rockstar owes you nothing and they don't have to do sh*t. If they refuse to refund your money THEN AND ONLY THEN do you have CAUSE.

Now STFU.

In fact the more i think on it, this is a matter for Sony or MS as you purchased the item from them NOT ROCKSTAR. Rockstar in this case are the Manufacturer, but in fact it is SONY and MS who are the RETAILERS.

So have you contacted their customer support have you logged a claim stating the facts? Have you contacted Rockstar to have them verify that your character was deleted and a cash card was credited to your acct? No you just expect them to do all of it for your and wipe your ass like mummy and daddy do.

Grow up.

I refuse to do the LSC glitch but I did farm the crap out of Violent Duct, Mixed up with Coke and Rooftop Rumble. I figured with all the crap going on during the first week, might as well get what I wanted. So now I have the $400k apartment, 10 supercars and can now focus on having fun instead of farming.

I like this game and I think it's a great life simulator. I start out in a city. I do jobs for people and boost my cred to get more jobs. I can save my money or spend it on cars. Eventually I will be able to make more and more cash off jobs and heists. I think people today just want to get everything too quickly.

I just wanted a little boost, I have 2.5 mil right now with the expensive apartment 400k and 8 cars in the garage. I'm done with the glitch now, I thought it was unfair people started doing it so I went ahead and did it cause I'm not gonna waste months to get where I'm at right now. It seems stupid but now I don't have to worry about the damn hospital bill. It feels great to have 2.5million dollars to just go f*ck sh*t up and mess around with friends.

Granted my post was off topic but i was focusing not on your views on farming but your views on the use of Microtransactions and why you feel they are justifiable. Even though they are two different topics they intersect because in order for a company to profit from Microtransactions they need to limit avenues to achieve the same outcomes without paying, herego making the grind harder and longer then it would ordinarily be even for a "hardcore" gamer who no lifes the thing. Many "hardcore" gamers are again people for whom gaming is their HOBBY of choice. They work, they socialize they may do many other things but instead of say golfing, running, biking, or the many other activities people do in their "free time" gamers spend that gaming.

So as a result all of these additions meant to attract people who play games casually, not as a hobby but as a minor pass time it often does so at the expense of people who play games as their main hobby of choice.

This is great reading all the long winded responses of posters trying to defend their actions in the best possible way!

Funny thing is, some of the posters on this thread and other glitch ones have also posted their tags on the forum. I will be compiling a list of the gamertags and posting it as a new topic so we can all report these cheaters. Will be a fair few.

Because unlike most people, even from the beginning GTA3, I simply just love driving, flying and customizing cars.

Sure if I'm attacked I will defend myself, and if there's a bounty I may pursue for the fun chase.

ANY KILLS I GAIN ARE ACQUIRED WITH GUNSKILL (something most of you don't know anything about)

I help players out who are being picked on by E-thugs, use the supplies I've acquired through exploits/farming to give to the greater good and people who aren't assholes like the majority.

don't flaunt what I have so why would anyone know what I've done.

I have a tank only to be used as a shield incase of said assholes who like to spawn kill with their swords.

I don't want to level up, or pay for stuff, I just want to play with my friends, help others, and further my tactics.

Rockstar is selling in game money for real world money which is wrong considering some of us don't have the funds to do so. ANYONE CAN EXPLOIT- NOT EVERYONE CAN BUY MONEY

I DO NOT CLAIM TO BE LEGITIMATE, I DO NOT TELL PEOPLE I HAVE EARNED THIS.

IT IS MY RIGHT TO EXPLOIT AS LONG AS IT IS NOT DIRECTLY AFFECTING ANOTHER PLAYER

My reasons are EXACTLY the same as yours OP, even made the same amount of cash roughly (legit) now down to something stupid like 45k through hospital bills, getting randomly killed etc etc. I have found repeated races seem to make a nice amount of cash, especially when there is a lobby full & you come top 3.

Don't waste your time, goodie two shoes. All Rockstar would have to do is sift through their Social Club database and organize the charts by amount of money made from car sales. Any abnormal figures would be a red flag.
