Why are people saying glitchers ruin the "in-game economy"? Th

Since the BAWSAQ feature hasn't been released yet, I can't speak too much on it. But, if it's anything like SP stock exchanges, then it's not a real stock exchange (unlimited stocks available to buy, can't set your sell price, etc.)

Although, my point still stands - even if we could set sell prices and there were a limited amount of stocks to buy - it doesn't change the fact that GTAO is still a phony economy. Only when they make purchasable assets LIMITED in inventory (ie. creating supply and demand) will I consider it a real economy.

The BAWSAQ is implemented though. Your single player characters have access to it. I think the experiments done here and on reddit have already proven that players have no real impact on it too.

And a lot of people on here need to do a Google search on the different kinds of economies. Some of you are assuming that when R* say economy they are talking about a free market economy in which all the in game prices are determined by what the players are doing. This couldn't be farther from the truth.

It is a fixed/planned economy in which R* sets the prices for everything. I have been playing since day one and know that the prices haven't changed on in game goods even though people are glitching millions of dollars.

When R* mentions that glitchers are ruining the economy, it means they are ruining the "balancing" that R* is trying to achieve. Balancing not unlike how powerful a gun is vs how much health you have in online games like COD.

And to the poster pointing out the irony in the Shark Cards, ding ding ding. The central theme of GTAV is corporate and governmental greed and corruption and here R* is designing an "economy" in which its extremely time consuming to make money, and almost every other game mechanic is in place to take your money away from you, all the while constantly advertising Shark Cards. Lol

Tldr: just read it pansy.

Exactly, the game has no economy.

A economy is players having commerce with each other.

"the page you have found does not exist" You have renewed your lying sack of sh*t license, congrats.

I registered to teach you console retard to use Google's cache feature, if you're on Google Chrome type "cache:" without quotes obviously before the url, so like this cache:http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/communities/public/questions/200309736-2nd-attempt-at-clarity-from-RockStar-exploiting- and you will see the page that got deleted on a previous date.

Could you imagine a real economy like the top MMO's? In GTA becoming a Car dealer, weapons dealer ... That would create a whole new game for me.

If they say this ruins the in game economy so does the cash packs they offer, R* is really becoming a greedy company. If they keep going like this is, this might be my last game from R* that I bought.

A greedy company ? Come on...aren't all businesses ?

All businesses want to maximise their profit. If it was your company, you'd do the same. Making large profits can help see your business through tough times. NO PROFIT IS TOO LARGE ! Simple.

At least they've made the game so you don't HAVE to buy cash packs.

Yup, everyone's finances exist in a vacuum. "In-game economy" has become synonymous with "gameplay balance" or something. Maybe not even that. It's all about throttling the progression of an individual's assets, which the abuse of has no direct effect on other players. There's no economy being ruined nor someone's quality of play directly being harmed. And this is coming from someone who has an extreme personal distaste for farming/exploiting/boosting.

The early farmers made extreme abuse of the replay button and therefore R* patched it out on the most missions with high payout. That is directly influencing me (and the ingame economy which exist in the form of payments for dying or entry fees I have to pay to enter races and such).

I don't talk about glitchers, because R* will going to patch that out of course.

Oh yeah, there is an economy in GTAO:

-Supplier is R* (only one)

-Demand is the players.

We can buy and sell only from/to one entity (R*)

We can earn ingame money in the form of "labor" (playing the game), only supplied by R*

imo that is called a monopoly (a fake one! but still based on economic principles)

There is no economy in GTAO. For some reason, people are under the impression that there is an economy in GTAO. Nothing could be further from the truth...

The only thing there is, is an in-game currency, nothing more.

If people don't have the ability to buy items, and trade/sell them to other people at prices they set themselves, there is no economy. It's plain and simple. If the game offers an infinite amount of cars, weapons, safehouses, etc. there is no economy.

Economics is based on the basic principle of SUPPLY (which is limited) and demand (which is non-existent because we can't buy from each other).

Even with the introduction of stocks in the game, it will only yield us more pointless money.

So to people complaining about glithcers ruining the "in-game economy" - why don't you spend less time playing video games and enroll yourself into an economics course.

think of it this way:

do you really want to see a level nothing running around in the same car you busted your ass for weeks for?

Ignore my above trolling xD Time to be serious. (Serious face is on)

By the time i got my 80k Apartment people already had the best one with all the high end cars.

I ain't even mad lol, Sure it sucked to be poor and could barely afford ammo xD

But honestly making money isn't hard once you get to know the game.

Once i was able to do Survivals i started replaying the hell out of those and bought myself

a Corvette and the 391k Apartment. Sure exploiters may have got it faster and easier but i honestly

don't care. Now that i have money and a nice car/apartment i do enjoy the game more.

I'm not sitting there hiding from players trying to not die and lose my money and waste ammo and crap

It was pretty bad at times, and for sure as hell not fun lol

Now that i have made a good amount of money (After buying my car/apartment)

I find myself less worried about losing money from a few deaths/insurance etc and really enjoy

my time death matching them asshats that attack you for no reason.

I even enjoy being chased by choppers/jets now cause it's fun now that i'm not broke as sh*t

worried about losing my cash.

I don't know most people with be like #TL:DR but i thought i'd share my little experience on the money glitch matter cause idk thought it might offer some insight in why they glitch?

I wouldn't care because cars are obviously not level-based. Back when I played Runescape, you'd see level 3 players with 99 in certain stats. People never bitched about it AND THAT GAME HAS AN ECONOMY.

My point is that most people glitch cause it's a hell of a lot more enjoyable when you're not hiding from people cause you're afraid of losing that little bit of money you have.

I'd honestly go into invite only sessions and avoid people like the plague cause i hated losing

the little cash i had.
