Two questions

1. Does GTA online take place before or after the main story? Which ever way it is how much before it? I ask this because thus far of the three main characters I've only seen Trevor and wanted to know if Franklin or Mike ever appeared.

 

 

2. Is anyone else finding it hard to have fun? I mean don't get me wrong I like the game but overall I'm just not having fun like I was with GTA 4's online.

 

I mean I used to join random GTA 4 free modes and have fun with randoms. In this game, everyone seems to have a "shoot first, and then when they spawn shoot again" mentality that is just really killing the game.

 

Someone is probably going to say "That's why it is called grand theft auto" or something like that, and I would like to know why you think that gives everyone a free pass to be the biggest dick this side of dickerton?

 

Even playing with friends was fun in GTA 4, fly around do random things, fling cars with helicopters, jump off buildings,ect... but unless I am doing it wrong cars can no longer be flung by helicopters and jumping off buildings lost it's shimmer.

 

I don't know I just don't find this online as fun, since people seem to care more about their money and other junk than having fun.

 

Is there any sign at all of a proper free mode where there is no money and other BS?

How do you know it happens before? That would explain why Trevor can't handle any of his sh*t himself and needs me to do it. I left Trevor with $2 billion in the bank, I'm sure he can handle his own problems...

Well number one... It is annoying when people are just trying to kill you all the time... it is a part of the game though... I don't get the thrill out of it really. There is more penalties than there is reward for killing other players unless there is a bounty. It is also very easy to avoid people in my opinion. I usually don't shoot anyone unless they are messing with me. Then they get the wrath of Merriweather and a bounty if I don't kill them first.

 

I think you need to play some missions. I am easily entertained by racing because of how funny it is when people crash. There are a lot of fun missions also. The higher level you are, the better missions you get. I should make a post about the level of fun and detail description of missions... Any missions that you have to steal a car from a moving vehicle is awful.

I believe it was stated in the first official GTAO preview that it is before the SP. It makes sense because otherwise they would have to account for the difference decisions we all made in the SP and the outcomes are vastly different.
