Fidzy
A while ago I was just casually looking through Franklin's bookshelf and noticed two books that seemed familiar.. You can see a book that says "RED DEAD" with the author as "J. MARSTON" With another you can see "THE BLACK PANTHERS" which if I am correct were the 'party' that motivated the teen gang 'Crips' which are most likely the gang sets that the Families are based off. AtomicPunk
So if you find a 'Black Panthers' book at Franklins then no big deal. If you found a KKK or Aryan book at Trevors or Mikes, then people would be a cryin' everywhere. I just don't get it. This stuff was found long ago. There's another thread somewhere around here. jamieleng
Nice find. So Red Dead and GTA are in the same universe. No, New York is not Liberty City in the RDR universe. From 'The History of Liberty City' TV show in IV, we know it's been called LC since before the year RDR was set. Oh & California isn't San Andreas in RDR either. I would've been perfectly happy if they shared a universe. Edited October 14, 2013 by jamieleng Jacob-B and Tacymist

Knife
Nice find. So Red Dead and GTA are in the same universe. Well we can't read too much into easter eggs like that. If we did, GTA: Vice City existing within GTA: San Andreas is a real clusterf*ck.

If we did, GTA: Vice City existing within GTA: San Andreas is a real clusterf*ck. That really is fourth wall breaking. That's like Lester having a GTA IV Niko figurine on his wall. They didn't really start taking continuity seriously until the HD universe, but we still can't take small objects & images too seriously. At least the front page of the newspapers in V show an HD character & not Donald Love like in IV.

Nobody knows for sure whether they're a blood or a crip set. Hell, they could be based off a whole different gang like the gangster disciples or something.
