3/4th is a bit of an exaggeration. A majority of the GTA Online has never looked at these forums or youtube videos. They play the game the way it's supposed to be played.

 

And glitchers should be separated from players who want legit play.

Don't be so sure, those glitching videos have tens of thousands of views, not to mention some people will have been shown how to do the glitch by others.

 

Legit players = betas.

I'd say maybe 1-3% of the player base have abused the glitch... However it could probably be a lot less than that...

 

Just because something have lots of hits on youtube doesn't mean goes out and try it, the vast majoirty probably say "hmm, this is wrong and yes.. might get me banned/resetted/punished somehow and I already made a mil or two by farming, not worth it".

 

Also, forums like this usually attract the more hardcore gamers, both cheaters and legit ones which is why the amount of topics on here don't really represent the whole player base. Not to mention that once something gets hyped on a forum, most things will resolve around it (just look at violent duct, for 2-3 days there was nothing else than people asking for invites or players to join).

 

I mean, how many players have played GTA Online since release for a few hours or more? How many have watched the youtube videos (100k-200k roughly?), I'd estimate that maybe half the people consider trying after watching it on youtube, most of them come to their senses and we have maybe 10-20k players that abused the glitch in various degrees.

If I spend several hours selling bikes, i would have 5 million dollars....

Same outcome, that player has that bit of an advantage....

 

One outcome gives $100 to R*

 

I'm not saying their wrong, but to say someone selling bikes is ruining play for other players, therefore forcing them to play in a cheat pool to protect the other players... It's a load, it's because those people have 'stolen' from R*. No matter how you look at it there will always be a way to get millions. Getting $500k legit, would take me several days. Getting that from R* would take 2 minutes once cash cards are up...

 

So the question is. If I buy a cash card, am I a cheater? Same outcome.

Would be nice if everyone put in the cheater pool also had their characters wiped. I doubt Rockstar would do such a thing though, since the type of person who is likely to have abused glitches in the first place tend to very angry and vocal, even when in the wrong.

I glitched, and I accept the consequences. That being said, these consequences are a lot less harsh than I expected. At the worst I was expecting to be banned, at the best, I was expecting a patch and maybe getting reset..

 

But the outcome was even better - I get to keep my money and simply get placed in a server with other people who glitched...

 

 

Think about it, if Rockstar didn't mention this, and there was no thread about this, would you have even noticed that you were in a pool of people who used the glitch? Most likely not, lol.

 

 

Why would I care that I'm unable to play with other random people who play GTA? When I have plenty of random people to play with now? As long as my buddies and I can play together (they showed me the glitch, we all used it), then everything is perfectly fine with me.
