Plane Races | How do you fly faster?

Is there anything that needs to be done to fly faster other than holding down the trigger to get max speed? I'm thinking something like crouching when on a motorcycle.

Yes, crouch down inside the plane to make it go faster.

...

Well I only can think of

a) Going behind another plane to slipstream and

b) Doing a steady descent so you accelerate because you are going down.

I win mine usually. Don't know any real way but a few tips:

Flying down speeds you up, gravity.

Luxor and the other jet are the fastest, if you can handle flying an airline jet thru buildings and tight corners.

If you are feeling mean, Luxor and the other jet can ram into small crafts with little risk or go Kamikaze against similar size planes.

You don't have to go thru the center of checkpoints, usually chipping the borders counts.

Take corners as tight as possible.

Thanks guys - just so I'm understanding correctly are you saying that the closer the plane is to the ground the faster it will travel?

No. When your plane is aiming down, it goes faster. Ground has nothing to do with it. Flying up makes you slow, flying down fast.

No when you are flying down, gravity is helping you to accelerate and when you are flying up, gravity is working against you.

How do you even dress yourself in the morning.

And for the record, air is generally denser the lower your altitude, so the higher you are the faster you usually travel.
