Is anyone else taking their time with SP?

Hey guys, not been on the forums much since V's release, other than having a few queries about the game.

Anyway, I've been playing since I got it on midnight release, and still haven't completed the main story missions, I'm in absolutely no rush. I've just been so immersed in Los Santos and Blaine County, it's amazing. I've only just completed the "Cleaning Out The Bureau" mission, I took the Fire Crew approach, I loved it. I'm shocked at people who completed the game in a week, and then moaned at lack of things to do.

Has anyone else just been far too busy exploring, causing havoc and soaking in the sheer beauty of this world, or is it just me?

I'm on my second play through. First time through I just cruised it, taking my time to some degree.

 

This time, I've powered through the story, leaving all the Strangers, random occurrences, collectibles, etc. I'm just going to do them naturally as I go, whilst exploring, rather than trying to cram it all in.

 

This game absolutely begs to be savoured slowly, but not many people seem to be taking that approach.

I took my time - about 75 hours gameplay in total - but finished the story on Saturday (am at about 96% in total).

 

Still fun cruising around Los Santos, I've still got some stunt jumps and knife flights to finish and I love the ability to redo some of my favourite missions (and try to do them better).

 

But every time I switch character, and none of them have any numbers next to them, I get a little bit sad inside.......

since i got it mostly spoiled i decided to wait to finish it on pc instead i got i guess half way through the game now i just don't play story missions anymore

I finished it a couple of days ago, 62 hours in. I'm still only 79.8% complete, so I've still got quite a bit to do.

I moved to university in late September, leaving my 360 at home and with GTA V at around 45% complete with 20 missions done. When my term ends in December I shall go back and play some more

Yeah, same. I've just been taking the game nice and slow. I still haven't completed the main story, lol.

Love the game. on second playthrough and taking it nice and slow and going for a more realistic playthrough and doing missions in what i think is the correct order. the dialogue actually changes if you do certain missions in different orders as sometimes they will discuss missions while driving during a different mission that you would miss if you did the current mission first.

 

This game is just a masterpeice tbh.

it took me like a week and a couple of days to finish the story since i was at a crazy slow pace ..... but i plan on playing the story over... i kinda miss doing the SP missions

Knife flights

 

Flying sideways in the gaps between tall buildings. There's 15 in all through Los Santos that trigger, and you have to do 8 of them for 100%.

 

Other people may disagree - and may well be better pilots than me - but I find doing them quite tricky, often ending in a bit of a fireball......

Nope didn't take my time. To me, GTA games have always been about exploring and trying everything out. And you have to get through most of, if not all of, the story to unlock most things.
