How am I supposed to defend myself?

I had a bounty on my head and I was being pursued by a couple of people so I threw out a sticky bomb and blew it up, which blew up not only their car but mine as well and I was named a bad sport. Now I'm stuck in a douche lobby for a couple of days

 

How was I supposed to defend myself without being a bad sport? I HAD to blow them up to stop them getting me.

They expect you to outgun the enemies who are outnumbering you. Either that, or bend over and allow them to rape you as they please,

Funny, because I've never had to blow up a pesonal vehicle. Basically what you're saying is you're not very good and need to rely on cheap tactics to win, rather than outsmarting or outgunning your opponents. Instead of complaining, get better/smarter.

You don't ever need to blow up anybody else's car. Outgun or outrun.

Avoid throwing explosives to other people personal cars until rockstars fix the bad sport system its was the same for me i got stuck in a lobbies full of griefers for 2 days.

There could definately be some changes/additions to the Bad Sport-system, my suggestion would be that you would have a Bad Sport-Meter, that would fill up by doing dastardly deeds such as Leaving Missions Mid-Game, Killing Passive Players, Destroying Personal Vehicles etc

 

But you won't become a Bad Sport just by doing one thing, it takes a while to fill the Meter, and it is a degradable meter, which means that if you don't do any bad things, the meter will decrease over time.

Easier said than done. Not only is running away not an option, because they(most people anyways) will just keep chasing you, but it is harder to shoot when they're behind you. Explosives are the only real advantage the victim has in this situation.

Doing one bad sport deed does not put you in a bad sport only freeroam.

 

Three dudes were rolling around in an SUV bothering and shooting people when they decided to turn to me. This was a bad idea. I shot the driver dead and tried bouncing. He quickly got in his truck with his friends and were tailing me top speed shooting like crazy. I dropped a sticky bomb and counted the seconds to detonate and boom--killed all three in one shot.

 

I got the bad spot notification and a little while later got my good sport $ bonus. You have to repeatedly do bad sport things to be punished.

In pvp someones personal vehicle should be Fair game, but R* says otherwise for some reason. I Always leave mines in the garage when I'm pvping.

As soon as you see dots on the map heading in your direction, drive fast and well and get away, find a good position to defend, get out of your vehicle and use it as cover, or any number of other options. Throwing a sticky bomb to blow up a personal vehicle requires no thought, cunning or skill and people that do it are fairly rewarded with a dunce hat.

Personally I don't mind the bad sport for blowing up peoples cars.

 

I mean seriously, if they removed that aspect of it then every noob and their mother would be blowing up every single car driven by a player just to be a troll.

If you got labeled a "Bad Sport" and thrown into lobbies with other "Bad Sports", it's because you are a "Bad Sport". I have blown up personal vehicles, shooting at a guy behind it, shooting it up while he's driving it, out of spite, but never have become a full out "Bad Sport" because it's not all I do. I don't get every kill that way. I don't do it every hour or multiple times within a session even. You can cry and whine about the system all you want, but it's your fault for being a sh*t player.

So what you're saying, is that I should spend my time watching the minimap and waiting for people to come at me, to avoid the broken bad sport system that is in place? How about instead, they fix it and make it so players who repeatedly kill get punished. Spawnkillers getting punished.

 

You're describing a very specific scenario that simply isn't always possible. If people attack me first, then I should be allowed every right to blow up his vehicle.

Same goes for all the guys who spawnkill my by constantly driving around my spawn and shooting me and hitting me with their cars. Are you going to tell me to just shoot him out of his car now? Again, easier said than done.

 

But no, the person who is spawnkilling me is not getting bad sport warnings at all. He can spawnkill to his hearts content. But I'm punished when I use the one advantage I have in THIS case, and that is explosives.

 

Stop defending this broken system. It does not work as intended. It does not punish the REAL bad sports in the game, and seems to be punishing more of the people who are actually trying to defend themselves.

Okay when you have a bounty either, go to your safehouse, set up a choke point somewhere and keep killing them till its not worth getting the bounty. If I am getting chased by some guys, I just stop and gun them down with auto aim since they are pretty much sitting ducks in their cars.

Join their silly golf lobby and within 10sec "you've been kicked from the match" followed by "if you continue to leave matches early you'll be labeled a bad sport".

 

HMMMM... So other people can sit in Host position and forcibly boot players giving them automatic bad sport stat. Guess I'll just purchase candy bars, play tennis and golf and darts alone in solo. Should I stop at every red light and just give up when the police are called too or will killing a cop be Bad Sport too...

That is an inconvenience that I shouldn't have to be worried about. I'm very aware of my surroundings. But I'm not being aware of them for the sake of keeping their vehicle alive, which ultimately requires you to approach the situation differently otherwise.

 

And you're missing the entire point anyways. I should not be the one who was punished when I was not only shooting second and defending myself, but also getting spawnkilled afterwards. They made the system only react in any real way when vehicles get destroyed.

Despite far worse and harassing things that are going unpunished.
