So its been 14 days now and I still dont get to play like the rest of you guys. I can get on for a little while every 3 days or so, the rest of the time the servers doesnt respond.

 

Failed to host a gta online session, returning to Gta 5 - followed by some cheasy sequence with michael and his family, which i must have seen 7 million times by now ...

 

Yeah i know - it works for you, you dont care, the game is free, Rockstar is trying their best, stop whining - and what ever else you might respond to this ... Fact of the matter is that i cant get online while lots of friends on my friend list is happily playing the game ...

 

So to all you potential customers out there who might go out and buy GTA5 so you can be a part of the online community - consider that the game might not work at all for you, even though Rockstar claimed they fixed it .... They clearly haven't, not to mention all the balancing issues, bugs, glitches and downright design flaws which seems to run even more rampant for every day that goes by ...

 

On a side-note im located in Denmark, which may be part of the problem

Bro this is definitely something wrong with your end, I had this problem and thought I would look into it and what I found is enabling port triggering and port forwarding on your router can help.. but it all depends whether you're wireless or wired.. or try changing your firewall settings have a mess about with your network.

Is upnp available ?

I have a Tilgin Switch and ive tried both wired and wireless. I dont have any issues with my network other than with GTAO. Internet connection test shows nat type 2 and upnp is available, I know that others are playing, and sometimes it works here as well -when it does its mostly in the odd hours where i assume the server load is lighter ...

okay that sounds good.

maybe delete the gta online content. it should redownload the updates when you start playing.

 

do your friends have problems too ? (do you have friends ? :D)

do you have a friend who can bring their ps3 to your house to see if the problem maybe is with your ps3?

 

 

give your ps3 a static ip and put this ip into the DMZ/exposoed host of your router. All ports are opened for your ps3 in this case.

 

I am playing from germany. no problems at all.

I read something from a problem with the internet in sweden because of a broken big fiberglass cable. not shure how much this can effect you.

Ah here it comes. Dude im just being open to the fact that i could change something in my end. Ive worked as a system admin in the danish government for years so im pretty sure everything is set up correctly ... Besides my gear is pretty straight forward ... But thanks for your support.

Ive alsto tried redownloading the patch, i could try that again - thanks. I will try port forwarding as well as you suggest, but shouldnt be needed with upnp on right ... weird ...

 

Note: other games are being played online at the same time on other machines, no issues there either ...

also i had similiar isseus here while i was connected to my wifi modem i had connection isseus alot

so i tried to open ports and it went a bit better but not that great ,

so i put back my 300n router from sitecom setup my wifi network connected my ps3 to the router and all connection isseus where gone strange but yeah it worked

 

hope this little info helps a bit

 

and srry for my language english isnt my first language

My mate was getting timed out every single time he tried to play online until 2 days ago.

 

I assumed his characters were corrupt, so I went round there, from offline mode I went to the menu to the character swap screen. Pressed X to delete both characters and then created a new one.

 

For the last 2 days he has been playing LOADS, completely fixed it for him.

 

Before that he had tried redownloading the game update and all sorts but it was the characters that needed to be deleted to stop timing out.

You do realise that someone might read this and delete their characters ? :) But thanks for contributing.

:) ty anyways hope it will work also using an router also fixes isseus not being able to play with my gf in the same sessions

Well, i can honestly say ive tried everything now except another router. Im not sure i want to invest in that as its only GTAO i have issues with, but lets see what happens :) Thanks for all the replys.

take your ps3 to one of your friends first.

 

if it works - your router is the problem.

 

if not - your ps3 is the problem
