Maxing out FLYING

I'm in badsportsland and trying to max out my stats. I've already got stamina, driving and almost shooting from simply playing the game. I just reached max stealth by leaving the controller upside down for around 30-45 minutes as many have suggested. I am now in my Buzzard, hovering around at great height. Will the flying stat increase by just hovering or must I actually steer around, increasing / decreasing throttle etc.

tl;dr: Does hovering in a helicopter increase flying stat?

I think you have to actually fly around. I've hovered for a few minutes and never noticed that stat increase.

Come to think about it, it might increase with distance traveled.

How did you do the stealth thing can you explain it further more?

And I guess stamina got %100 just by running or cycling?

Just do it like everything else. Fly in circles for a few hours. Should work.

Switched to a plane for gaining distance faster. Flying from north to south and back so I can just keep holding R2 between turning. This seems to take a while, though..

Haven't been cycling much, so stamina is 100% mostly from running (during missions and free roam). It pretty quickly reaches 100% even if you're not trying, so don't bother focusing on it. When it comes to stealth, I did it in my apartment. I activated stealth mode, then laid the controller upside down so that the analog stick turned, making my character walk in circles. Leave it like that for 30-45 minutes and make sure (s)he doesn't bump into stuff and stop. That should max it out.

If this is true, hovering would work, right? How about just sitting in a parked helicopter? Would that count as flying? I've been flying around for about 20 minutes now and have only seen a tiny, tiny increase in the flying stat, if anything...

It's based on time. Not distance. I tried taping my controller and left it flying around in circles for a few hours. It worked! Almost maxed out flying stats. But it takes a looooong time.

I'm currently just sitting in my parked helicopter on top of the Maze Bank building. I'll just leave it there and see what happens. I probably have to press a button or something every once in a while to prevent getting kicked, though.

Current Stats:

Flying - Ace

So I'm not trolling when I give advice.

Get a plane, taking off and landing improves it alot. I just did it at sandy shores. Takes a little while but if you don't like planes, get a heli and fly really close to buildings, under bridges etc

Seemed to work for me.

Just race in planes, do it by yourself if you can't get anyone who wants to race in planes over and over again, it'll get your flying skill done remarkably fast (within a few hours from 2 bars to 5 bars). Also you'll get RP so it'll help you level up while you're doing it (and if you can get someone to help then you'll both make money while doing it as well).

So if I hover close to a building it should work? or would I need to be moving

Can't confirm this...but you have to be moving for stealth and driving so I'm guessing the same applies here.

Sorry :S

It would be helpful to know whether it's distances travelled or time spent which improves the stat. Wish I could help more.

ok well I still have a few bars to go so I will leave it hovering close to a building for 20min see if anything happened. Then fly around a bit and lastly just do landings. Since I am trying to get that award for spending time in a chopper this would make it a bit more useful.

landing a plane increases stats (i think, just like in single player)

doing barrel rolls or spinning or flying dangerously close to buildings. (just like single player)

i only have 1 more bar to fill in my flying, i always steal a jet

take a plane and land it on one of the landingstrips repeat for 1.2 hours and its on max

land more often using planes and i think it boosts up the flying a bit faster than just flying around

I've spent two hours testing this out.

Honestly, if anything helps (close to buildings or taking off/landing constantly), it's negligible in my experience. Distance traveled does not affect it either (I just spent half an hour flying a plane in circles).

I'd just recommend getting a helicopter and rubberband, and then checking on the game every ~12mins or so to make sure you're not kicked and to make sure your controller doesn't turn off.

Anyone know how to do strength? And lung capacity

The only way to do lung capacity is spend a bunch of time underwater.

Strength's super easy if you have a friend - just have your friend get in a car, and then you start beating the hell of the car with punches and kicks. Takes about 7-8mins to max.

I honestly just spent hours with the Laser killing cops on the ground and it got my flying skill up pretty quick.
