Question about "The Merryweather Heist", order of FIB, and Min

A couple days ago I did "Scouting The Port", and the two set up missions that followed suit. For some odd reason I haven't been able to start "The Merryweather Heist", and I wanted to do that before I did some of the FIB stuff. Right now I have been doing some of the Strangers and Freaks, and Random Events while I wait, but I still haven't received anything from Wade.

 

Basically I was wondering if I needed to complete some of the FIB missions before I start the "The Merryweather Heist", or if I am missing something else.

 

Something else I thought of while writing this topic (I might as well include it in instead of making a new one). I was wondering when the Minute Men also get unlocked. I ask because I started Maude's mission, and I believe that Minute Men is where you can get a stun gun from. I can't buy it at Ammunation, and I don't feel like messing with the cops.

Yes, I'm afraid you need to complete three FIB missions before you do the Merryweather heist.

The first starts at the observatory, the second at the oil fields, the third automatically with a phonecall.

After the third, Wade should ring you (although I have heard other people say that you have to do Lester's first mission for Franklin as well before Merryweather becomes available).

 

That's just how it kind of has to work storywise........

Oh well, thank you for the clarification. I was worried that's how it was going to go down, and I am sad to see that be the case.

 

I've already seen some of the story, and thought it would have been funny for Michael to stumble around on words when he is freaking out to Franklin about everything, or imagine Trevor meeting Franklin for the first time doing the heist.
