Upgrading to Collector's Edition

Does anyone know if you can add a Collector's Edition code to XBL, for the vehicles and what not, after having played GTAO since release?

Not sure if it was clear or not in my original post. But I am interested in purchasing a Collector's Edition code from eBay and adding it to my account, I didn't meant upgrading via the XBox Live store.

why shouldn't it work? Ofc it does
