You dont have to make it on Social Club you can make it on a different program then edit it into the Emblem editor.

I made this logo for my crew 'The Decayed MC' i kept trying to make the Sons Of Anarchy logo on it but it was impossible so i jsut searched it on YouTube and found a tutorial on how to do it

Here the video was telling you how to do it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AVwiNxKuk4

Man I was trying so hard to get an svg to work with the emblem editor but kept ending up with blank saves.

Now I see that uploader comment and I'm thinking of retrying, thanks man.

edit: I found a reddit topic about a program that does it for you.

Don't get the one the OP links, there's one below in a dropbox link that's patched and linked by another user.

I'm trying to get it to work at the moment, seems pretty legit.

Anybody know why when I add mine to the social club editor it saves as no color? Just black and white?

You know there's settings there to select how many colors it uses.

No I mean with the youtube method.

With that tool as well...it shows up fine in the bigger box where you can edit stuff but when you save it its completely black and white in the smaller box

Okay, so I went through the comments and I did a little bit of testing and messing around. I've probably made more svgs than I have seen the letters s, v, and g.

Follow the top comment's advice, however, do it in this way:

1. convert to svg using vectormagic

2. open in inkscape & edit it to 512x512.

3. save as png

4. convert that to SVG using vectormagic

4. Open in Inkscape and remove background BUT DONT EDIT ANYTHING ELSE AT ALL

5. save as OPTIMIZED svg

6. upload to rockstar's site the way the youtube video tells you to

7. publish it to your crew

8. it'll show up as an error, but it should show up after a while

Using that above method, I managed to get an image uploaded, note that mine did show up as an error at first, but the image will eventually appear.

Also note if you delete your cookies you can get free downloads from vectormagic. And yes, the above method does use both of your free tokens, so this would be suggested if you're making more than one, or screwed up the process a lot like me.

Just takes a lot of time on their hoofs (if they didn't use a generator to make).

Not gonna lie, I love the emblem creator and I enjoy experimenting with it, but some things are just impossible to make with that tool. It doesn't even have a zoom in tool and zooming in the browser doesn't do much to help.

Did the image show on your crews page?

You guys are lucky. You have access to all that sh*t, when I'm over here with a stupid Mac -___-

Why would you get a Mac? That's computational suicide.

Linux is the best, followed by Windows.

Did the image show on your crews page?

Mine shows up like this:

952c278f86f200ff364100ca2b78ce0f50e3823e

When I convert it to a plain svg it comes out like your's does.

When I convert it to an inkscape svg, it shows up on the editor but when I save it, it doesn't show up at all.

When I use that above method, and save it as an optimized svg, it comes out perfectly with all colors.

emblem_128.png

Do not copy anything else except for the 'path' lines. In fact, just open your image up in notepad++, delete any line besides the path lines, select all and copy that into the emblem editor's html.

This is my crew's page, right now it's just me because I'm using it for my own ingame emblems and such, but I plan to recruit someday:

i agree with vlynor. linux is the best OS to date. windows is way behind in 2nd (especially 8). and mac is garbage

How do you remove the background in inkscape btw?

Click off of your selection when you open it in inkspace, then click and drag on the background, drag it outside of the lines that comprise your page. That way the background won't show up in your image.

To change the dimensions of your page you can do shfit + ctrl+ d.

I think your guide works, it probably was the fact that I didn't save it as optimized SVG. It shows up properly now in the preview, just need to wait for it to show up on the crew page.

You are a lifesaver iKevhawk!!

Only reason I use Windows if for gaming since most games use DirectX.
