Add toll booths from GTA 4

On all the freeways, where you must stop at the gate and pay 5$ or risk a wanted star. I think also we could add a hotlane that you pay to use on the freeway for morning rush hour, and generally the freeway should be much more congested than it is.

 

GTA 4 had the right idea with this I think.

I for one would deffo pay to use a toll road; it really gets on my tits having to use a congested motorway to get to Sandy Shores every morning.

 

The less cretins on the road getting in my way the better.

 

You could even get a job in the toll booth as a minigame too, press A to open barrier, press B to close barrier. At the end of the day you could add up the takings and cream some off the top to keep.

It would just add to the realism of the game, would make it feel like a living, breathing city.

 

There are very few toll roads in the Los Angeles area. It wouldn't add realism.

if you agree then you have clearly never been to California or been on a FREE (ITS FREE) WAY.

Cali East Bay native here. We definately have toll boths around here but only for major bridges/security toll boths in some areas.

go play a traffic sim. this game already has enough rules.

The same thing they added to GTA IV, a little spice of realism where you go "Oh cool, they added that? What a nice detail"

 

And also if you are fleeing the cops you don't want to head towards a toll lane either. It was a nice touch in GTAIV and rockstar added it themselves so they obviously see some merit in the idea.

One thing we're missing in game that they could introduce would be static speed Cameras.

 

That would definitely control the masses who speed everywhere causing mayhem for everyone else

I agree with this it should really have its own thread too. You think you are having a good time going 200 on the freeway but then 2 weeks later at the end of the month after you've already spent all your money on your cars and apartment you get a photographic citation in the mail that says you owe 250$ for speeding. Why not add red light cameras on the same mechanic too.

This is all doable by the developers. I think it would make everyone think twice about breaking the rules for sure. I think i'll have to make a thread about speed cameras, there's definitely the demand out there and if we get enough people on board we could really make a difference for the better
