frustrations with matchmaking and game modes...

Is anyone else frustratingly detered by the matchmaking and game mode voting in this game?

 

I have 3 other friends i always play this game with, but it's extremely frustrating trying to get into team deathmatch or LTS together and actually have the team stay together...what also annoys the hell outta me is the fact that everyone votes for different game modes at the end of a match...why can't it work like call of duty where you want to play team deathmatch, ONLY team deathmatch matches happen. this is a really annoying game design for me and it's really not making me want to play any of the multiplayer aspects for these reasons, anyone else feel the same?

100% agree. WTF do I have to join Deathmatch and then pray for it to be a Team D.? I should be able to choose EXACTLY the game mode I want to play. Big mistske from R*.

I definitely agree. I don't see why there are options for deathmatches when I've just come out of a race. Same with survival or 4 man missions. Everyone just votes for free-mode since there's nothing really similar to what we were doing. All parachute jumps (which are ok), LTS and deathmatches. I got nothing against deathmatches and LTS but I just want to carry on what I was doing instead of going back to free mode to find a new game.

 

A bit off-topic but I'm getting pretty annoyed with people starting a game when others are still joining. I always get timed-out when this happens. There was a full lobby of 16 the other day and I got timed out because one person was still joining when the host started. When I eventually joined back to the game to see how many people actually managed to play, there was only 4 guys in there. It's obviously a big problem, I'm surprised there aren't more threads about it. Only seen one a few days ago.

I agree with this as well. These are aspects among many in GTA Online where you shake your head and ask "WTF WERE THEY THINKING!?".

 

Sigh. I really hope they fix the issues. Not being able to choose the teams is so absurd, not being able to specifiy TDM or DM is also absurd. And if you pick team deathmatch you should only be able to vote on more TDM maps/modes! If you wanna play something else then back out! Like come on rockstar. ridiculous.
