A few questions about hunting challenges

Possible spoilers of a few challenges i mention here if you dont want to know what they are.

 

 

 

ive hunted maybe 10 times now and have gotten a few challenges come up through cletus's texts.

 

1. ive done a few and sometimes the mountain lion has gotten me and it seems like i have to start over with the challenges? thats fine and all because i enjoy doing them, but is that how it works if you die you have to start them over?

 

2. some challenges i get texts from dont seem to happen each time. like run over a boar with a vehicle which i havent done yet has came up a few times, but other times no texts. i thought maybe i had to kill a few boars to get the challenge though that didnt seem to work. so are they random?

 

3. i did a nature challenge to take a pic of a doe for cletus's girlfriend or whatever but havent gotten any other nature challenges so is there something that triggers more or is there only one?

 

or are the challenges just all random you may get one from cletus or you may not? thanks to any help.
