CurtisC87
Why do they have to be so connected to the city? In San Andreas they felt isolated and had a real small town vibe to it. TXF
Why do they have to be so connected to the city? In San Andreas they felt isolated and had a real small town vibe to it. These two places are literally in the Los Santos's backyard. Because they can only make the map so big? It's already huge, do you really need them to make it even bigger, by separating things more? They probably couldn't if they wanted to, given how much is already in the game.
tch2296
? I've never felt that way it takes some time to get out into the real wilderness.
tch2296
The game world is about the size of real-life San Francisco from what I've heard.
lizardman563
You do realize that it was only a "feeling" in San Andreas, right? Get the PC version, get the 10x draw distance mod, and tell me that it is "isolated". It isn't. The distance from LS to Chilliad in GTA SA is LESS than the distance from sandy shores alone to Chilliad in GTA V. Put that into perspective. Suppa K
San Andreas was no bigger and if anything was basically the same. The reason they felt isolated is because SA used some good draw distance tricks to make it feel bigger. They were also essentially in the "backyard" of the cities. grimper12341
Yeh it's kinda sad what San Andreas looks like with that draw distance mod on. ^ he's flying over LS, and that tiny mountain is Chiliad (it's not tiny because of distance either, it really is miniscule compared to Chiliad in GTA 5) You can also see SF and LV from Los Santos, and vice verca. jerrodh7244
Much bigger than San andreas as everyone has said. Also most people complain that Blaine County, etc. are to empty, adding more space would lead to even more emptyness...
vince91
i think this was done so we wouldn't be forced to drive the same road every time we want to go places. like that one highway to get to the town in SA, and the bridges in IV. now there are a lot of routes you can take to get to the same point. also, when you have the time you should play some san andreas, i did recently and i was suprised how much smaller it is than i remember it. compared to gtaV, it feels microscopic

CurtisC87
San Andreas's version feels more lively and fun to explore. in GTA #5 it takes 30 seconds to go from one side to the next on Chilliad while there is more to explore in Andreas. Blaine county is also isolated adding more of a County backwood feel to it in SA. There are also no proper forest areas in GTA #5 to explore.
