GTA ONLINE will become EXPLOITS ONLINE forever. I dont think Rockstar will ever fix everything unless a full restart and game crackdown hapenned.

I can almost guarantee you that Rockstar will not wipe 99.9% of the population's characters or stats. In the past, Rockstar has taken no action against exploiters(that I know of), and have a good track record when it comes to fixing up their games. I have faith that they will get their sh*t together and patch the game up... but not soon. As it stands right now, Rockstar looks like a bunch of amateur code monkeys slamming a wrench into a computer. It's painfully obvious that there was very little testing behind GTAO before release. Judging by their track record, I have absolute faith that they will get this stable, balanced, and working within a month or so.

 

I was going to post an article where Rockstar specifically says that they were not taking any actions against people that used exploits, but instead they were attacking the hacked gamesaves in RDR. The article, I believe, sums up Rockstar's policy with exploiters... unfortunately I could not find it again.

The truth is, it's been painfully obvious since launch that the game wasn't ready to launch properly. Rockstar should have done an open beta and inform people their characters would be deleted for the full launch. All these farming methods and glitches would have been found and sorted leaving launch a much smoother experience for everyone. I feel sorry for the more casual players tbh.. many times i've joined servers where I'd be the only high level and the rest would be under level 20. It's sort of unfair when they stand little chance of killing me unless they're sniping me from the roofs and have the jump on me.

To me your OP sounds like you're not so much worried about the game being exploitable, you're worried that other players are catching on and are devising smarter ways and you're no longer high and mighty anymore. Am I right?

Some things just take some time. I'm sure R* is looking at multiple game issues right now, including glitches and opportunities within the game itself to exploit (I use that word very loosely) missions. However, I think R*'s major priority over the last couple weeks had to have been server stability and players having thier characters deleted because those are game breaking issues.

I think the exploits and mission farming isn't as huge a concern for R* as it obviously is for forum members. Exploits, I image, would be the more difficult of the two to deal with as they likely involve recoding or adding new code (which potentially adds new problems). As for farming, it's more a matter of looking at data to find out if missions are being replayed constantly for the "wrong" reasons (i.e. cash farming instead of replay out of simply enjoying the mission, which is what replay is meant to be for). I believe they adjusted VD so as to reduce it's rediculous payout; which shows R* is aware of these type of balance issues, and is working on it. It also shows how they will likely continue to handle cash farming in the future - balancing the payou rather than attacking thier customers as some people think they should (and claim they will).
