GTA ONLINE GLITCH. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE?

So I recently ran into a glitch last night. I accepted my friends game invite into another server and spawned into my apartment as usual. When I went to my door to enter my garage, the door was open. That in itself was weird. When I entered my garage though, it wasn't my garage. IT WAS SOMEONE ELSES GARAGE! There were two highly modded bikes and a highly modded truck and car. So I decided to take the truck for a spin. Took it to LS Customs and insured it as my own. So now I have a truck worth a lot of money because I spawned in someone elses garage. Has this happened to anyone else? Spread the word so rockstar can fix this. I know it was a dick move on my part, but I'm not passing on a super awesome free vehicle. I don't want it to happened to anyone else.

impossible. it was probably a dupped garage (possibly from the last server you were in). Otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to drive the car out of there.

No it's possible. the vehicles in the garage were highly modded so they had to be someones. Now I'm not sure if the truck I took could still be under the owners control and I just have a duplicate of it. The truck is still in my garage though. The only thing I've been meaning to do is try taking it back to LS customs. Cause after I insured it under my control, i tried taking back in immediately and it didn't let me.

Im 99% sure the owner wont noticed, what you took was probably a duplication.

Having done allot of coding myself, the cars you have to your name are locked to you, noone else will be able to take ownership. Atleast that is what makes the most sense

The very same thing happened to me last nite. I switched between characters and spawned in my apt as usual but with the door open. When i entered the garage it was full of modded super cars!!! I was able to get into each of them to see exactly what they were, then went online to see which was the most expensive There was a 440k infernus that had some modifications to it, so i took it for a spin. drove to LS customs, then back to my garage where it is now

 

The only problem was the car i had in that space in my garage has disappeared which i wasn't so happy about as it had lvl 2 armor, bulletproof tyres, engine mods etc that cost me about 150k

This happend to me yesterday it took me a while to find this topic but i thought it must have happened to someone else. I started a session and spawned in my apartment, i went to the door which was open, that was weird, i entered the garage and down one side was 5 of my cars and on the other was 5 of someone elses, there were like 2 adders the classic bugatti and a couple of others. I entered one of the adders and drove it out to see what happened, when i got outside i exited the vehicle and noticed that it was shown on the map as my personal vehicle, so i drove it back in my garage and once inside is was shown as insured. I switched sessions to see if it would stay in my garage and it did, so now ive got the adder for free lol. Hope the other guy didnt lose it. It did replace the car that was in that space but it was only a car i saved to sell. This is on version 1.05 btw. Upto now i havent has the car destroyed so i dont know if it would be replaced ok or not. Ive took it to LS customs and that works. Cool glitch though.

never had this happen but I did have a random guy walk into my garage

he couldn't take any of the cars though I think

probably couldn't see them even as he walked straight trough a car

I've had this happen to me once but couldn't get into their cars. I exited the garage then returned and it was back to my normal cars.

As for other people getting into mine, I've seen it happen about 4 or 5 times. The one time in particular was on the day after the patch, I could see a guy getting into each of my cars, sitting there a few seconds then moving onto the next. He obviously couldn't see me as there was zero reaction when i walked up to him.
The weird part is that the door animations didn't happen for me as he entered/exited each car. It showed him move into the car through the door closed, and it showed him disappear into the floor of the car then appear standing next to it upon exit. I don't know if he drove anything out or did anything else but I still have all of my cars in their normal spaces.
Seems like another variant of duping albeit unwittingly.

Don't feel bad about it, that's cool. They can just claim insurance and get it back, or - if you could just insure it, it was probably all just duplicates, in which case that person still has their vehicles.
