There is a world of difference between hacking a game and exploiting errors or game imbalance. R* can and should bring the hammer down on someone who actually hacks or mods the game itself. But taking advantage of glitches and opportunistic farming of unballanced missions payouts ... well, that's less cut and dry.

I will agree with anyone who says the LSC glitch is just wrong to use. But a ban or character reset? I'm not sure R* would consider that a very good business move when it could cause possible customer back-lash or effect thier image to the consumer. It would cause less potential damage to simply find a way to just fix the glitch itself.

Farming, or rather "opportunistic replaying" (despite any persons or group of people's opinion or moral outrage over it) is an issue of game imbalance, nothing more. R* would have a hard time justifying any action against players who take advantage of it as it's games very own mechanics that enable them to do so. It would be like an obviously over-powered gun in a FPS. It's obvious to everyone the gun wasn't meant to be God-like and it unbalances the game all to hell. But should players who use what the game puts in thier hands be punished? Absolutely not.

Allowing cheaters to cheat makes a better image than punish those that abuse exploits?? Nice logic there

Actually to be fair, most all Online games I've ever played has a rule "Not to take advantage of Glitches or Bugs, or risk being banned". However most of the issues in this case was "Unbalanced" Issues, so most of these guys will not get in trouble. Just like R* disabled the Replay for most activities if you already passed it. Now taking advantage of a Bug is down right wrong and is cheating, them guys need to be careful.

Exactly, the replay missions farming wont get anyone banned, R* has already announced that on their support site. It was a mistake from their part and not in any way an exploit people used.

So farming wont get anyone banned, there are a few other things out there that probably will though.

I doubt they will ban, purely because there are a hell of a lot of people doing it..

Most likely a reset or something along those lines..

There isn't really that much people doing it I bet. On this forum yes, as it's full of geeks and try hards. But the general player base of GTA 5 wouldn't even know how to exploit the game and the vast majority haven't been anywhere near this forum.

So, I also have a hunch that once everything has been fixed, they will swiftly and efficiently ban all those that have partaken in glitches. Farming is a different matter as that was an overlook on their end by making a replay button available.

Due to us all having stats will make this operation an easy and quick one.

I thought that but there are some very famous youtubers making videos about these exploits, my guess is there are a fair few doing it tbh.

as for the math on it -

GTA Online has been out for 10 days now (lets assume you were able to connect - all things gravy... go with me here).

You can legitimately sell one car/bike roughly every hour. So for every 10 days you had 24 chances to sell a vehicle. Lets assume our imaginary player has insomnia and is able to take advantage of every chance they have to sell a vehicle.

So - 10 x 24 = 240

If every time the player sold a car it was worth $35,000 - that would mean:

240 x 35,000 = 8,400,000

Potentially, every player that has been able to connect to the servers since launch has had the opportunity to earn this much legitimately off of car/bike sales alone.

This means there's really no way for R* to detect who used this bike glitch - except for those individuals foolish enough to use it to the point of having 10mil+

You would be pretty naive to think R* do not have a more in depth analysis of each players stats.

For the last time R* does not have the resources or time to look through millions of user profiles. Emailing them with a list of names has about 0.1% chance of actually being read by anyone and even lesser chance of anything being done about it.

For all you people complaining about farmers, understand you were never going to be top anything in this game, millions of people beat you to the punch and you are now just as irrelevant in this game as you are in real life. If how "someone else" plays "their" game to the point where you become a sniveling little crybaby then maybe its time for you to stop gaming completely.

I would also like to add DO NOT plan on getting the elder scrolls online when it release for the next system. Because it is abundantly clear you have no god given concept of how MMO( or MMO style ) games work and you will simply clutter that games board with more crying topics about farmers, etc, etc.

This is more directed at glitchers.

I don't understand why you are getting so angry, if you decided to glitch you knew that you were doing something wrong and deserve to be punished.

Regarding the stats, you would be very surprised how a simple coding program could separate the cheats from legit players. It's not like they only have the same stats and access to in game activity as you see.

Head in the sand comes to mind.

Hi, you must be new to Rockstar games, they actualy do have the man power and resources to do that.

and also just a reminder there are the most simplistic methods to make a program that searches for certain rythems of the database.

Btw if a company just made a billion in sales in 3 days be damn sure that they do have money to resource everything to what is needed to be done, its not an indy developer ;)

They won't ban, many users are cheating. They better ban real hackers using mods and not others playing glitches.

this, i think

don't think the user agreement legally covers glitches as they are part of the game.

besides between missions restarts glitches and griefers they'd have to ban half their user base

and I doubt they'd do that

If these glitches were a significant concern to R* then they would've patched them already

If you think hundreds of thousands are cheating you are on another planet, my friend.

Many may watch the videos, but choose not to cheat as they are fully aware what has happened on other console games in result of this kind of thing. I presume you are not one of them.

Maybe they are not such a significant concern as not as many people are doing it as some seem to be so desperately trying to make out. ''Everybody does it'' being shouted around this forum in hope that it might come true.

If so many people did it, of course R* would patch it much quicker than they are, they wouldn't be a business worth billions if they didn't - since they plan to make millions on micro transactions.

Banned players are lost customers. They would've already made a statement or something saying that they are going to ban/reset everyone who did the bike glitch. Not a single banned player will buy DLC and a lot reset players will leave GTA Online (and won't buy DLC either).

I think it will be a reset.

And DLC is all going to be FREE for the next 5 years, and I'm sure people who did glitch will know what they did was wrong and won't have a leg to stand on to complain. They will most likely count themselves lucky and make a new character.

Wait, so your saying only farmers and those who exploited issues with the game are the relevant ones?

Hahaha I love a good f*cking laugh on a Saturday night.

they need high levels and high money people. we are the beta testers for the higher up content. which was obviously broken. why ban the user base that is going to beta out all the big stuff before the 99% of you get caught up? do you want a broken game?

Yes, I am sure they did need you lot to see what cheaters can do.

Now and when they have fully discovered that the ban hammer will come down without mercy. You are merely pawns at the moment, when they have finished ironing it out, you will be thrown away like yesterdays garbage.

LOL R* can't ban people that use glitches/exploits for the simple fact that they can't track who uses them. At most they could look at your money coming in and find suspicious activity but they'd never be able to confirm. This isn't like a hacked save game where they can check that it's not legit. The exploits are technically part of the game so there's no check you can do. If they want people to stop using exploits its their responsibility to fix them.

Nobody will be banned. As a strong prediction though, characters will be reset if their statistics are somewhat peculiar. Obviously rockstar have more private character statistics for this type of thing and will setup an automatic detection system where staff would look into the matter.

Did you even read it?

Not only is that for Red Dead, but they clearly state it's for HACKED game saves. Not to mention, they also go on to say *This will not apply to those people who simply took advantage of temporary exploits to rapidly grind up XP a few weeks ago.".

The LSC exploits and any other exploits to grind up RP/cash in GTA:O are the same thing...temporary exploits. So, if you're using that as a source for how they'll treat GTA:O...we have nothing to worry about :)

No one is getting banned. The most they will do is a reset. What you lot fail to realise is that we aren't talking about a god-mode glitch that makes the game unplayable for the community. This is a simple money boosting method that harms NO ONE. You recieve ZERO XP from the glitch, so why are you bitching? The only advantage a player will have over you is a few more numbers in the top right corner of their screen. Most of the people glitching aren't even level 70.

No one is getting banned because anyone who gets banned will probably just jump to another game and with cod ghosts just round the corner R* won't want to lose any possible dlc sales
