Can PS3 save files transfer between systems?

My brother started his GTA V offline single player campaign on my PS3. Yesterday, he copied his save file to a USB drive and tried to transfer it to his PS3.

 

According to him, though it successfully transferred, when he went to load it on his system, he received a notification that since the save was attached to a different Profile (mine), he couldn't use it.

 

I could've sworn I'd read people on this forum sharing GTA V saves. Could someone tell me if what he wants to do is possible and how to do it?
