its a desperate attempt at gaining validation through an online game via generating high amounts of cash and/or reputation points, essentially because they lack any validation and/or stimulation IRL and are trying to make up for it.

 

normal people with good lives would never farm/glitch or cheat. they could't be bothered. fact.
