Can't join random job/races/deathmatch etc.

All options except for "Join mission" is blacked out. Why?

Same thing exactly here, not sure what's causing it but at least once since I first noticed it it had worked again and then stopped working. I've been trying to figure out what triggered it to work but I've got nothing.

 

Also I can always host without fail, and joining missions I'm invited to works flawlessly, it's only random matches I can't join except for random missions.

I had the same problem yesterday but I just used my phone to join the jobs.

You can't join random jobs from your phone, I'm talking about joining random matches in the Jobs section in the pause menu, there's no other menu with which to access this function (much to my annoyance).

Oh wait that quick jobs menu, does that join races too? I'll have to try that

Yea the menu in the phone has all the options.

Got exactly the same problem here...i can join only jobs im invited into...on the other hand i always get timed out in every random job from online menu when its going to start...

This is very annoying, but the phone should always work. Thanks to whoever brought that up in here.

Alright, I figured out what this is all about.

Jobs cost money. If you have $0 on hand, you cannot start a job via the online menu, but you CAN still join one via the phone.
