Does anyone else think that GTA IV was the best GTA?

I just liked the atmosphere and the realistic theme/ story better

Also Niko was a more interesting protagonist than the three of gta v

It seems though that most people dont want a realistic and dark gta and thats why gta iv is often critizised

Thats why they made ballad of gay tony and gta v as they are because people wanted to return to the fun of gta 3 era games

what do you think ?

In my opinion it would have been better if they kept making "dark" gta's

Yes I Do by quite a distance in fact Its the Crown Jewel of the Series. And despite having a few minor issues here and there it would still be the only game i would Rate 10/10

GTA IV has one of the most interesting storylines in the series, but compared to previous games it felt like a rather bare bones sandbox. It is a great game no doubt, but not the best imo.

To be honest, I utterly enjoyed GTA V and haven't played IV since I got it (simply because I need something utterly new to play after 5 and a half years). Yet, I do feel that IV is the pinnacle of the series, especially from a story telling perspective. The best protagonist, the best sidekick (how can you not love Roman?), best antagonist and the best vibe/atmosphere.

- weather system (timecyc)

- cars damage

- support of modding

- Niko charisma

- cars physics

- level of details

 

V is best for :

 

- number of cars

- offroad capabilities

- undersea thing

i think V will be better on several points over IV with upcoming PC version , but won"t beat IV on main character (Niko) charisma which is for me enough to prefer IV over V .(i didn't say V wasn't a great game..)

 

VC is best :

 

- Miami/Vice city thing

 

 

morality : GTA 6 has to be Vice city

Which is a shame, because GTA IV was based on my most favorite location for a GTA game - New York City.

 

In my view, the best GTA game is still Vice City almost everything about that game was perfect for it's time, it had pretty much everything I could ask for. And I had such memorable, explosive fun playing it. San Andreas comes in at very close second. GTA IV and and GTA V come in both at 3rd, I don't think one was better than the other.

i think that technically V PC version will be better than IV . i'm pretty sure they are going to improve lot of things and add some things too , that are missing right now and that were expected by lot of fans , like restaurants or enterable buildings or improved handling . but IV has a "soul" a particukar vibe and i don't know if V will manage to reproduce this

I'm not sure if I'd say it's the best but it is my favorite game in the series. I think the story, driving, protagonists, villains, and friends in the game are greater than in any other GTA.

I haven't played V yet, waiting for the pc version.

 

So IV is the best so far imo. Great story, atmosphere, the city looks great and is the most detailed so far, great characters, driving physics are awesome imo despite all the hate it received, I loved it.

 

SA is second, VC 3rd. For me, every GTA just gets better, so from the looks of things, V will become my new favorite when it finally arrives for pc (next freakin year )

gta 4 had a much better story than gta 5 although gta 5's story was still good. but gta 5's free roam is better

Driving was very sloppy in V(Unless you're Franklin).

 

If I had to choose between I'd go with V(5). Although I felt the ending for V was empty/bare, I chose OPTION C because A&B felt like it wouldn't go well with the ending/story. I did like IV(4) ending ALOT BETTER.

Not at all...this is the same sh*t I am talking about V...I didn't like the fact Sand Andreas has sooo many options yet in IV you could not even choose the color of your car. Just lame. And that feels like the short sightedness that has happended between GTA V singleplayer and online. Rockstar is becoming short sighted on what made GTA GREAT!
