How do I emote during a betting screen on a race?

Title. I tried pressing in the sticks like normal, and it's a no go. Gracias in advance.

I don't think you can use emotes during the betting screen, could be wrong.

I saw someone use their action (like saluting/dancing) etc. on the betting screen. When you click both sticks to do it normally, the menu greys out as if you are doing the action but nothing happens on screen. Either it does to everyone else (but not yourself) or it's bugged/not even supposed to be possible

I guess. Because I've seen dudes jackin' it before races and it cracks me up everytime.
