Alright, now I see a lot of Rockstar Defence Force running around wailing "R* SHOULD BAN PEOPLE WHO ARE RICHER THAN ME, HAVING MONEY ISN'T THE WAY THE GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYED", or whatever, I'm gonna explain to you all why resetting/banning people who farmed money using an exploit in the game's code is illogical, and just makes Rockstar a bunch of twats.

Reason 1. It's in the game's code. If R* coded it, how are we as the consumer, supposed to know it's not intended. We're talking legal terms here. Just because we do know it was a glitch, doesn't mean it's legally classed as a glitch, because in legal terms, logic means f*ck all. Common knowledge. R* may not have intended it to be like that, but it's a sequence of actions in THEIR GAME. Not my problem.

Reason 2. "It upsets the balance of the game". "It's not the way it was intended to be played"

Right, so farming 100k using a glitch that takes two minutes "upsets the game balance", whereas simply throwing £2.99 at Rockstar doesn't?

Gameplay wise, THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE. If R* are offering people the chance to BUY MONEY, they have NO REASON to use "it upsets the balance of the game" as a reason to ban people.

Reason 3. Those people were never going to buy money anyway. What does banning them acheive?

F*ck all. The only thing it achieves is Rockstar's loss of the chance of that user buying DLC.

So that's "moral wise" and "business wise" reasons both shut down. If you've got any other reasons, post them.

Says the cheater, framer and the glitcher. You are very afraid Rockstar are going to ban you, right? Punk ass bitch.

Presumably you have a brain, that is capable of thought - use it.

Legal and illegal does not exist in this context, you can't go to jail for using exploits or glitches, because it is not a legal offense. It could be breaking the EULA/Code of Conduct that you agreed upon when installing and playing the game (who knows, cause who reads it?) And yeah, it is your problem really - well it's not, cause you probably won't get banned. Not that I think people who glitch or exploit should get banned, just reverted back as most companies who run MMOs do. But if it is in the EULA/CoC/Any other contract that you agree upon when installing playing the game - then it actually is your problem and you can't claim ignorance.

But with that said, nothing will happen anyway so.

I think op is correct remember what r* say before gta launch? Expect a lot of bugs from day 1! I therefore believe with all this glitches what we are doing now is to help them patch up the game to play properly. Of course there will be people taking advantage of those glitch, there is nothing we can do about it.

Most other games cancel accounts for exploiting on other games. How R* will handle this is beyond me, but your logic has been used constantly in other MMO I've played and guess what? Ban hammer comes down.

I don't think they should be reset, i just think shame on them for not playing the game how its meant to be played.

Its like playing the whole of single player storyline with cheats on.

Um..

No one has been banned yet, there is no reason to believe anyone would be either?..

I mean rockstar have never even mentioned banning or removing anyone... Why worry?

This. As R* has made in announcement in the past concerning issues similar, (Red Dead, August 24th, lost the article search for proof, its there), I would expect them to do the same here.

To the OP, you do realize you're trying to defend "cheating" in an online multiplayer game don't you? No, replaying/"farming" a mission isn't the cheat here (as if exploiters need to be explained exactly what they were exploiting), it was the broken mission that gave out tons of RP and tons of money.

To say R* intended the game to be played this way is beyond foolish, and is exactly the kind of argument someone who knows they did wrong would use. It's foolish because R* has gone so far as to patch it out, stating the feature is in fact broken, and that they are trying to put it back up, after it has been balanced.

Is it really that hard to see/point out?

Also, bugs aren't the same as exploits. A bug is something that happens unexpectedly in a game's code, while an exploit is a type of bug that allows for some kind unintended gain.

The very definition right above of an average internet user.

So, basically, Rockstar is to be blamed because you`re a cheater?

This is not even new...

Glitching / exploiting is considered cheating. Cheating might or might not be punished in the future.

Also, bugs aren't the same as exploits. A bug is something that happens unexpectedly in a game's code, while an exploit is a type of bug that allows for some kind unintended gain.

If I encounter a bug that randomly puts 1 mil in my bank account once, it is a bug.

If I encounter a bug that randomly puts 1 mil in my bank account and I find a way to replicate said bug for about 500 times, that`s exploiting.

Farming isn't cheating otherwise everytime you did an activity that would be cheating so shut it idiots

Farming using LEGIT methods, you mean. Because farming cloned / duped bikes is not farming.. that`s exploiting.

Most common level is 60+ and rarest levels are 80-100 now you're slow and what you really mean to say is everyone above 150+ are hacking using a modded 360 hack >_> Edited by Corrupt King

I don't care about how much money or what my rank is in GTA Online. I play the game normally, without farming. Doing races, messing around, some missions now and then and of course other activities. I'm now on Rank 33, and I did it by simply playing the game for FUN, and I don't even care. I'm not in a hurry to unlock items either, why would I be? The sooner I unlock items the sooner I will also get tired of this game, by leveling up in a decent amount of time it's guaranteed for me that I will still enjoy this game in the upcoming weeks and months, and I rather make a lot of cash doing heists than by doing the same boring mission over and over again for hours.

I have nothing against players that use the replay function. They can be lvl 200 and have 10 bils for all I care.

I cannot agree to the following, though: "I am a legit farmer. I farmed my money! All I have is farmed! I just got a bike, gone to the LSC and sold the same bike for 500000000 times". Or any similar "honest farmer".

If the game was poorly tested and their testers didn`t find a mission that can be replayed, takes 1 minute to finish and pays 30k per run, that`s THEIR problem. But if I am duping, then that is MY problem.
