Planes/copters in missions

Has anybody else noticed that the normally spawned planes/copters are not there on missions? At the helipad by the marina you can get one to land but if you approach it or even aim at it he just flies away. The only way I could get one on mission is to drive away from the helipad, then back to the helipad to make it respawn. Then you have a teammate wait there and look at it so it does not disappear while you get far enough away with a sniper so the pilot doesn't see you aiming at him and take him out.

 

I have been very far away and if you aim at the pilot he just takes off. You have to be very very far away. It does not make sense that these npc's have superhuman vision and can see you aiming at them from such a far distance.

 

Does anybody have any good strategies for getting a flying vehicle on mission other than this? It is so stupid and time consuming. If you are supposed to have a flying vehicle for a mission the least they could do is make them spawn where they normally do without an eagle eye pilot already in it ready to fly off at the slightest sign of anybody approaching them? Thoughts?

call for heli pickup, cost 1k only
or get urself a heli and call them to send it to u, same thing 1k also

Thanks I appreciate it. I just called lester and had him locate one for $700. Calling one in would work too I'm sure. Shame there is no real free way to get one on mission without going through the headache I posted above. Kinda annoying. I guess it's just another way to get a few E-dollars out of your pocket... If you have pockets that is.

Just snipe the pilot out of the heli tours one and job done, a clean single headshot once he has landed does the trick.

i just call merryweather... helicopter delivered to you for 1k beats helicopter spawned in some area miles away from you.. ill gladly pay the 1k to save myself all that driving to the other side of the city... i wish bought helicopters worked like how merrywather works... why cant they bring the heli too me if i own it.. like merryweather does.. i mean if i own a car the mechanic brings it to me if i call him.. so why the f*ck cant pegasus do the same? same with boats if i call for it in the water (again merryweather would bring a boat too you)

I'm sure at some point we will be able to own boat slips and hangars... I hope anyway.
