I notice this will happen occasionally when you have no cash on hand(all money in the bank). There are certain actions you can only do with cash. Keep under 5K on cash on you at all times though because anything over will cause you to drop more if you get smacked down by someone.

Sorry, but that's highly inaccurate. You won't drop more than $100 upon death, no matter how much you are carrying around in cash. It's a fact.

 

There is however a way to mug other players, and in that circumstance, you can lose more than $100 if you are carrying around a lot of cash.

I've lost $500 before getting killed by another player. It was right after a mission where I got 7K. When I respawned I only had 6.5K. The information you have is inaccurate.

What he means is it's the most the other player will pick up after killing you.

 

You can lose more than 100 when you die but they wont make more than 100.
