Hey if someone is creeping up on me you BET I'm going to be blocking him. If he gets knocked out, sucks for him.

I'm a pretty fast driver, but I quickly learned, if you're in the lead, you're going to get targeted. So now I drive like the OP says. I ram and play dirty. When it happens to me, I've learned to laugh, or try a bit harder next time. It makes the element of winning a bit random for sure, personally I like it

I wish there were nitrous, then when people try to hit your tail from the sides, activate it and they spun out of control.

racing in this gae is garbage. Especially when compared to Forza 4. I don't like racing if im not playing a racing game because everyone just rams.

Yea i try to race clean but i realize this is gta and most people are awful even after getting wrecked ill still catch up to the person and pass them, usually i slam into them just because. I just raced with some idiot who hit me twice in a normal race with about 7 of us than he chose a gta race for the next race and it was just the 2 of us and I destroyed him.

Thanks to him i was able to get the ride or die tat. It was kinda satisfying in its own way esp when i got him all 3 times by firing my rockets backwards.

Every single race I get f*cked over because people are a bunch of inconsiderate f*cks.

"Rubbing son is racing."

That video was all I could think of after playing GTA:O and reading what people said here,

The only way to enjoy a race in GTA: turn of catchup (no one notice this setting) that slows down the one in the lead, play on free-aim servers (where the more mature players are) and race clean!

I can not understand why people have such a difficult time with the word YOUR and YOU'RE. They are not the same. Usually, I just let it go, as I realize kids today have little knowledge of grammar, but it's the title of this thread, and it makes NO sense!

Having said that, I agree. I'm trying to race. Not play bumper cars. Enough of the demolition derby on the freeway.

Says the guy who just made a massive run on sentence while writing about grammar. ,

Protip. When someone tries to pit you, slam on the brakes and steer into them. It usually takes them out, too.

After a couple times, they learn to stop hitting you.

This, the first tutorial race I ever had someone tried to nudge me. He spun himself out and I won the race.

Ultimately this is GTA, so no collisions as a rule would make no sense. Everyone is entitled to race as they see fit, most likely anyone trying to ram someone else will just screw themselves up anyway so let them. If they don't screw themselves up, give them a taste of their own medicine.

This is a game where we play criminals, and every race we do is an informal race (no referee, no physical finish line, no actual race track) so it's nonsense to think everyone would race clean if it were real life. A street race with criminals is exactly where you'd expect people to be ramming each other off the road, and anyone not prepared for that is playing the wrong game.

Maybe if the physics weren't like "tap a curb = your car flying 80 feet in the air and spinning 14x", it wouldn't be so bad.

As someone who loves Sim racing, I have to say racing dirty is partly what GTA is about. It is not a race sim it is a crime simulator. Personally I don't usually try to ram anyone off the road, but when it does happen, that's all part of the game.

If you want clean racing only race with like minded friends.

If you want proper racing, you should probably get a proper racing game but even then you'll encounter dirty drivers, unless you make the effort to find other clean drivers

One last point though, even when racing against clean racers, people do make mistakes, especially in close proximity at speed and mistakes have consequences. Don't always assume a hit is deliberate.

I generally wait for people to crash into eachother so I can drive past them taking the lead.

Yesterday I had a race with 16 players. It was like Destruction Derby Arenas :D

I agree with the OP.

I have no problem with nudging and agro (I love NFS HP) but the cars in GTAO are way too easy to pit. Races become much too random.

I don't blame other players, I blame the car handling physics. It's worst in the Super category, and in muscle cars, which goes without saying.

So sick of seeing a variant of this tired argument. Half the people on any server you pick haven't worked out there's a difference between acting like a criminal and acting like a dickhead.

Yup. Pretty much every race I enter ends up in a pile of cars at the first corner, and after that, it's pot luck who ended up in the most advantageous position.

YES!!! Why was this not put in the game, makes perfect sense as we would get to the see the damage system in full effect and would satisfy all of our ramming needs. Loved the destruction Derby games and fully support this mode being put in

I usually stay back until the first turn or two, and during this time, I will watch people's colors show. Then I know who I can pit :) Otherwise, I won't race dirty unless it's the only way to get first. Generally, I do well because I stay out of the whole tin can blood orgy death feud PIT session....but it can be fun.

Ive noticed that those who cant drive with skill and precision tend to be the ones who smash into other players. Unfortunately most races ive been in have at least one.

This is exactly what I do. I pull of slowly or even stay stationary for a few seconds then just go. I end up coming in the top 3 a lot more when I do this than when I straight up race from the beginning.

I usually win or at least come 2nd in almost all races I enter and the only exceptions are when I'm hit in a massive clusterf*ck of people who only care about crashing and playing dirty even if they screw themselves over. Usually I can recover but then there's those times where you just get repeatedly f*cked no matter how hard you try to race clean and avoid them..

It seems the starting boost usually sets you up to be in a bad spot as unless you outclass them by miles with a custom car they can easily slip stream you and as not many know of it you set yourself up to be screwed by the 7 or however many behind you..

I just took some arseclown to school at the airport track. He rammed me a couple of times in a race with 6 peeps like a jackass, got him one on one and had 4 races with him. Spun him out every time.

People think they're clever when they do it, pffft the pit move is so easy. It's also so cheap.
