You can get mugged?

My cousin has just told me that you can mug people for all the money they dont have in their bank. Apparently you get it at higher levels. How is this achieved??!?!?!?

you hire an npc mugger at level 50... they get no warning of this attack.. it comes up behind them.. knocks them down and takes their money.. they can reclaim the money if they chase down the mugger and kill him.. the mugger only knocks them down.. it doesnt kill them... however if you manage to stop them from killing the mugger afterwords.. or the mugger manages to get away.. the money is yours.

 

the mugger costs 5k to use though... and since nobody ever carries more than 5k its a waste of money unless you know for a fact somebody is carrying more than 5k

 

i think they should lower the cost of the mugger to 1k... or make it take some money out of the bank so you dont come up completely at a loss because they stashed their money away before the mugger got them.. especially since they can just use their phone which doesnt make any sense.

The mugger costs 1000, ive used it several times, the player can kill the mugger to get the money back, the only way for you to get the money (you that hired the mugger), is to kill the mugger yourself and take the money.

 

It really sucks because the mugger is easy to kill afterwards, and if you want the cash your gonna have to chase him down too, which usually ends in a fight between you and the player you wanted to mug.

it costs 5k.. not 1k... i saw it in a video.... multiple videos.... and since people can bank their money anywhere in the game.. you will almost never get any cash from this... unless you know for a fact somebody has more than 5k on them you will have a loss of money.. it might be worth it after a mission worth more than 5k... example.. you finish a mission with your team worth 10k.. manage to call the mugger before they deposit.. then the money is yours... however that is very unlikely to happen since they will attempt to store money in bank the second the mission is over and the mugger takes time to arrive.

Last time I checked it was $1000 not $5000. A guy wearing a mask (for me it was a those Jason looking masks) would push you and mug you in the process. Pretty funny.

That is correct, stupid as it may be.

The guy above me says you don't, well i have mugged people several times, and only the times i have gotten to the mugger and killed him myself, have i gotten the money, the tooltip that pops up after the player has been mugged also states "Kill the mugger to get the money"

Some people forget to bank their money as they do missions and races and then go straight to stores.
