Point of upgrading cars past maxed bars ?

After putting the engine 1 upgrade and turbo on my sultan the acceleration is maxed out. When highlighting other engine upgrades or even transmission or brake upgrades the bar doesn't move on the cars stats. Is there a point to keep upgrading the engine after the stat bars are maxed ? Does it increase too speed ? Do buying transmission upgrades and stuff do anything? I can't see rockstar putting them in the game with out the having some reason

I would actually like to know. I got max transmission and engine 3 and it does seem to make a difference, but I would like clarification.

The stat bars in the display may be maxxed but the actual underlying stats could be uncapped, cant say for sure right now.

Depends how they coded the stats to be applied to the cars.

Stat bars are always inaccurate.
