"Catch up" might be the most ridiculous thing added to racing

I literally just lost a race where I had a 15 second lead with no obstacles... Just straight away.... The degree to which Rockstar has dumbed down racing is unathomable...

 

I feel like racing pretty much pointless now.

What does it do exactly.

I always turn catch up off.

This ain't Mario Kart. Well GTA race may as well be.

Ye catchup is pretty anoying, lost a lot of races because people catch up in the last few meters off the race while i was first the whole time.

What it does exactly i dno, it feels like it slows you down when the game thinks you to far ahead of other people.
