Added, also I was hosting it and only the first lap gives a decent amount of EXP the others give like 15 EXP.

Yes, it seems to give the RP by percentage, so it's higher the higher your level is. Same amount visually to the RP bar.

Staying close gave me both laps every time.

 

In fact it gives me message "You have reach maximum RP for this activity after lap 2"

You get a ton of bonus RP for certain things....and slipstreaming is one of them. For every 5 seconds of slipstream, there is an RP bonus. So, if you just follow around the other guy, slipstreaming the entire way, you will get MAJOR BONUS RP!

 

There are also other things that give you bonus RP...having the fastest lap, having a clean lap, leading the entire lap, overtaking vehicles, etc.

I'm level 56, a friend is level 64.

It always caps at exactly 5000 RP, no matter what we do. We don't even need to use slipstream as we reach the cap at ~ lap 2.

also if you bet 2.5k and win whilst your partner bets 100, vice versa, then you get a bit more cash
