So What Was the Whole Controversy Surrounding Trevor Pre-Release?

So remember when the game's audio leaked during the last few weeks prior to release?

 

I managed to avoid them, but I remember a few guys around here who did listen to them were saying they no longer liked Trevor because "he was way more f*cked up than they thought", which got me very intrigued indeed.

 

Now having beat the game, I wouldn't say there was anything that bad to warrant the reactions to the leaks.

 

So my question is: what was this big, bad thing that Trevor did in the leaks that got everbody so worked up?

no it wasn't. I guess are you just not paying enough attention to the cutscenes / story.

 

In one cutscene you see Trevor "spooning" Floyd while he is wearing a womens pyjama. After that Floyd is always whispering and crying in the cutscenes that happen after a night with Trevor. It's pretty obvious what happened, even if it wasn't shown directly.

In one cutscene you see Trevor "spooning" Floyd while he is wearing a womens pyjama. After that Floyd is always whispering and crying in the cutscenes that happen after a night with Trevor. It's pretty obvious what happened, even if it wasn't shown directly.

Haha, yeah, it's very awkward. I don't know how anyone could know that just from listening to audio - maybe there are more audiofiles on the disc than we can hear in the game (cut outs maybe)

 

BTW: It *can* be that this cutscene wasn't in "your" game. I've missed some scenes because I started missions with another character then a friend of mine. So his and my game were slightly different.

True. The first cutscene that has a variation, is the mission straight after the first heist (Jewelry). You can approach Michael's house as Michael, or Franklin. Each will give a different start to the cutscene (entering the mission as Michael gives a more detailed opening to the cutscene).

I had this as a character switch cut scene. Maybe you have to switch to Trevor at a specific time? IE you're not going to get this scene

if one or the other people involved are dead.

used Franklin and killed the deranged, sick and dirty bastard. Put a bullet in is head and watched him burn nicely.

Much appreciation for your riveting and insightful contribution, but I actually think Trevor is the best and most entertaining character R* have ever created, and certainly don't think he's "too much"

I don't think Trevor is controversial at all. I think the controversary should be the beastiality within the game; you know, where the guy has sex with a monkey. I think most people were shocked at who Trevor killed. I thought that was the best part of the game.
