Holding car engine on

I asked this at the game launch and seems like no one was discovered this thing but:

Do anybody found the way to exit the car while let the engine still work? I manage to make it just one time, tried to figure it out, but still didn't found the key combination.

Will be very thankfull for the answer.

There is no way to do it except to jump out of your car.

 

AFAIK you could do it on GTA IV (4) by NOT holding down Y and just exiting it manually.

 

Holding it down would turn the engine off.

I know how it works in GTA 4, and wondering why its not possible in GTA 5.

Why I'm asking because I manage to do it one time by being in a free cam mode, and thought that people already discover the way to do this...

It is possible in GTA 5 I did it. Just think you need a wanted level and it will happen automatically.

 

No other way of doing it that I'm aware of.

try a search, theres been a few threads about it already, ive not read them though so i dont know the answer. I too once had it happen but i was pressing almost all the buttons so im not sure how i did it, unable to recreate so far, lol

You need to be in "combat mode"

Obviously only activates when in combat.

I'm still yet to experiment with what will trigger combat mode inside a vehicle.

I found when this worked i had the 2 front tyres on the sidewalk, one of them exactly on the kerb. My toon left door open and engine running.
