This is the best method I've used so far. It seems to be a spawn point for lots of rare vehicles. I got a tailgater there last night. Went to go put a tracker and insurence on it - get disconnected because of server issues. Fml.

I'm proud to announce that I've located and customised my own Obey Tailgater a few moments ago.

 

 

I found the Tailgater by doing the following:

 

• Join an invite-only session.
• Wait until Simeon text messages with the car list including the Obey Tailgater.
• Head to either the parking lot behind the tennis court of Vespucci Beach or the Los Santos Golf Club parking lot in Richman.
• Time of day does not matter, as I found it at night.
• If the Tailgater has not spawned, circle the block until it does; no need to switch sessions, as new cars respawn as you circle the block.

I found mine at the movie studios. I was driving a Akuma. I wasn't receiving Simeon's text messages.

Check HPVs too, that's how I got mine. It wasn't HPV, but it was just beside it.

 

Also, no difference between Mike's car and a normal one. Same thing, except at one point you're forced to have dollar rims. That's it.

On topic: got my tailgater finally. Phew.

Randomly got one as a high priority vehicle

 

those are generally rather rare vehicles, so give it a try if you're still desperate

i've never looked for a Tailgater yet, but always kept an eye out for them. well for the first time las'night i searched for a Tailgater for about 10-15mins checking the known hot spots and found nothing. so i went about doing other things. few hours later at the end of the night i was driving down the Great Ocean Hwy and something made me stop and turn around and look. there it was sitting in a driveway, north of the tennis courts, last house on the right just before the foot bridge crossing the highway.

I saw another one at the airport WITHOUT the list, blew it up as a troll to my friend

i found the tailgater by doing invite only session, then finding a dominator then going to the golf course. so it does work. and it was in the second to last parking space as someone stated earlier.

For me, the movie studio was rich pickings for Tailgaters. Found three there on various sessions, always at night when nobody was there. The car park behind the tennis courts at Vespucci was another rich source - twice found them there. Those were all found during the day through to late evening (my first I found there was at a time of the gang attack that is next to it, so must have been sometime after 8pm). Never found them at the golf course, though.

 

All but one were found without Simeon's list, on invite only sessions. The one I found that was on the list I didn't realise, it was on my friend's list (unbeknown to him at that point).

 

Most times I have found them when I was on a bike (either a Bagger or a Bati 808rr). Doubt that makes any difference, but still.

 

They can be a pain the neck to find - if you look for them, they are nowhere (like most times you are looking for a specific vehicle, the game is psychic!). Then you can find them easy, sometimes one after the other (one I found at the studio, I had left my bike there. Went back to get it and another Tailgater was there).

 

I've found them all on invite only, but perhaps they may be easier to find on open sessions - if they are on someone's list then pretty sure anyone can get them (and the ensuing wanted stars). At least, that is how it was on my invite session as I had a completely different set of cars on my list to my friend's list.

I've been seeing them a lot lately. grabbed a Bravado Gresley the other day, & one was parked next to it. (across the street from the LOST hang out)

Holy sh*t.....I just got my own tailgater through the absolute craziest way possible.

 

 

I was coincidentally driving around the normal spots for one of these things, in a full lobby. Suddenly, a high priority vehicle pops up. I ignored and continued searching frantically for a tailgater. Well, someone grabbed the high priority vehicle, and then a few minutes later, every single person in the lobby just left at once. So since I was alone I decided to now go after the high priority vehicle for some easy cash. I get to the car and what do you know, it's a tailgater.

 

So before I take it to Simeon I drove all around the normal tailgater hotspots, thinking my chances would increase while actually driving a tailgater. (didnt know I could throw a tracker yet) No luck so I proceeded to LSC and threw a tracker on the car and thought it was mine now! I was short 2k for insurance so I had to rob a store quick, and hope a player doesn't join the empty lobby and destroy this car. So I make it over to a liquor store and rob it, evade the cops, go back to LSC and add insurance, and go to my garage.

 

I still get the error message saying I couldn't store the vehicle into my garage. So I switched my spawn to last location, went to a new session and it worked!

 

TL:DR My Tailgater was a high priority vehicle.

Unlucky for me I had mine stolen from a loser who ended up locking me up in the clothes shop, which I have been trying to get it insured for my second character. I did however manage to get out quickly and killed him after he finished modding it at the LSC.

Vespucci beach tennis courts. Have had 4 from there up to now and even managed to give one away sold the rest but once I had the HPV be a tailgater too.

Was so tempted to keep it but then thought nah and sold it, that came from near too the helipad/dock area in LS.
