Online Irritation

ok just wanted to point out a few things in this game that are really annoying.

 

1 - no mute function. wtf seriously? why am i not allowed to turn off the nasally 1980's walkie talkie quality voice chat? how many games do i have to play where i listen to some static filled open mic of some garbage music in the background. i dont want to be required to use VC to just log in and do a few races or whatever.

 

2 - the whole bank system, what is the damn point? its just a chore that dosent really add anything to the game.

 

3 - the invite system, so unintuitive. constantly locked up with pending invites. how bout letting invites expire?

 

4 - people being able to "hide" in deathmatch. prolonging matches, promoting camping.

 

anyone else got anything that really annoys them about the online play in GTA 5?

The "invite/matchmaking" system is the most annoying aspect for me. I've played 0 full 8 vs 8 deathmatches so far.

1 - you can but you have to go to the pause menu which might get you killed. It would be nice if they added a feature for muting noisy people in the lobby when you hold down and view the list of people in the lobby.

2 - I think they said that this isn't working as intended

3 - The invites from actual players do expire. The ones from NPCs don't

4 - I agree. It feels more like team campmuch and not team deathmatch. It's pretty bad when you go through a 10 minute game and don't even reach the total 15 kills required to end the match. I don't really like deathmatch in 3rd person shooters anyhow though.

yea there are many bugs and annoyances, this game is beta mode for sure, lol! not being able to kick idle players from lobbies really sucks too. had some dink in survivial mission go afk and couldnt get rid of him to get an active player in there. Sucked. Kinda funny he never moved and survived the first wave though, lol!

1. Apparently the host can kick you for any random reason? either way it only bothers me because it doesn't bring you into your own online lobby, but kicks you back to single player instead.

 

2. TDM is a joke camp fest.

 

3. You would think that when in stealth, you appear off radar but apparently you do not. Soooo this feature is 100% pointless.

1) there is a mute function - use your interaction menu

2) probably, I haven't done much in free roam but I thought the idea was if you caught somebody off-guard with more than 5K you got a bonus

3) yeah I have to agree, fine to use once you work it out but not intuitive.

4) grenades or smart movements

The thing is only a minority join. Also lack of variety in free roam, for an online game this size there should be more to do on the map but hopefully with future dlc there will be more interiors added. I'm really enjoying online though.
