I broke down and got a bluetooth headset.

It is almost required to have a microphone to tell others where to go, or if you need help in a mission or survival mode. I didn't want to use a mic but often times people are asking if I can hear them or need me to respond. I've never been a huge online gamer but this game has totally converted me. Anybody else feel the same way?

Oh yeah it converted me as well. I used to like playing with other random people, but this game changed my mind about that. Idiots in this game are similar to Idiots in real life.

I guess I will do the same. I sort of act less serious when I have a headset on so hopefully yelling at some spawn killers will help towards the anger I have towards them and I won't want to punch a wall after losing 10k in medical bills.

I picked one up myself. I think it will useful when heists are available. Also, a bonus is I can take the thing off and not have to hear anyone chatting through my tv anymore on missions

Just use general etiquette and don't be one of those assholes who has the mic on just to mouth-breathe into it, or make other annoying incidental noises, or yammer away at other people in your house or yammer away with a player friend when the mic is NOT needed (such as a race). Also, not using it to be a purposely annoying, cussing, sh*t-talking and/or mumbling head-dick should go without saying. It's distracting and just plain rude.

In other words, mics are totally legit and helpful for coordinating things in co-op missions, but not much else (unless everyone else in the job or session are your friends or are explicitly cool with chatting or hearing you chat with another).

I can relate. I've gotten fairly pissed with this game.

I've already experienced this with others. Listening to mouth breathing or joking around amongst each other. I agree, it's totally annoying. I plan on keeping the mic on mute unless I need to say something in a heist, mission or survival mode.

R* star are pretty cool though, even if you have everyone on mute in freeroam when you kill or are killed the first 3 seconds or so after, whatever the other person says into the mic goes un-muted. LOL. Lots of trash talk potential.

Exactly why we need a turn to talk function that is already set on by default.
