Journey_95
So many were skeptical when rockstar announced that gta v would have three protagonists now after playing the game what do you say ? was it a good idea or is one protagonist much better? Edward-Is-A-Flunky45
Good Idea, brings something new to the table, I think that was much needed. But the story was short for 3 characters IMHO. In the end, I think that if the next GTA is with 3 characters again I'll be totally fine with that as long as the story is with 5041394013951951 missions on single player. EscobarVice
Definitely a good idea, when I'm bored of one character I can just switch to another. KillaDanny

Jimmy Darmody
Yap, it was genius. For fiction purposes. Notice how on the past GTAs all the minorities and gangs were represented. The spanic were represented (Vic, Luiz), the italian mobster (tommy, Tony), the gangbanger (CJ), the emigrant minority looking for the dream (Niko) the biker (Johny)... Keeping on with 1 protags soon GTAs would start being repetitive. With 3 characters there's more space to build a story and a background for the protagonists, and they can reinvent protags without being repetitive. tranceking26
It was great - but 69 missions is not much compared to say, 88 for just 1 Protag More missions and it's a major good thing
Fuzzknuckles
Definitely a good idea. Switching and catching them in the act somewhere is great. I would have loved it for IV. Switching between characters was a f*cking chore. Signatures are dumb anyway.
spamtackey
I think it's brilliant because it opens their storytelling up to a point where they don't have to come up with some stupid reason for you to do everything. That mission they showcase in the gameplay trailer would not be possible for a single character because one guy would have to fly the chopper, rappel down, and snipe. They probably could add more to the story, but honestly I'd rather have short and awesome than long and dragged out. Also, technically there are 127 missions including the Strangers and Freaks, which may not be main story stuff but do all missions need to be part of the main story to count? Lock n' Stock
I like it alot, adds more variety. A game this big would have felt empty with just one protagonist.
KillaDanny
Definitely a good idea, when I'm bored of one character I can just switch to another. this pretty much... loved the idea and I hope they keep it at minimum 2 characters for future GTA's
Champers
Rockstar definitely nailed it with the 3 protagonists, a fresh new start from the single protagonist. I do hope they continue on with three playable protagonists for GTA VI and other GTA games in the future.
Thebull94
Tbh I hope the characters get limited down to 2 (Like someone else mentioned) purely so the characters can be fleshed out more. Now I am only on mission 40/69 but Franklin just feels like a third wheel too me. Basically a character purely created for the CJ fanbase to make players feel more at home playing as a 'ghetto' character in what is essentially San Andreas. So far Franklin for me atleast is being out shined by Trevor and even..... Michael which I find sad seeing as Franklin had alot of potential. Also yes hopefully the next GTA is f*cking longer. 69 missions is a joke no point arguing with that. Also keep in mind I am just like half way there (more or less) so Franklin could turn out to be fleshed out more (I f*cking hope)
leon3789
I love it. Though I got to say, I don't think it would work well with any more characters, Maybe 4, but that would be pushing it I think. I would love to see this done in future games, and differently as well, but I do agree, it is a little short, making it feel even shorter with the 3 different characters... CorporalBean675
Well to be fair this was the first time they could make missions for 3 characters so I'd say it's at least a little understandable that they did this. And if they made more missions people would wine about that too and call them too boring and unnecessary. Some guys here want every single mission to be excellent and not boring at all AND a huge amount of those missions but that's asking for a bit much. R* would obviously make more missions in the future but for now this is awesome.
JazzOnWheels
It didn't make things worse. I'm not sure how much it added to it, though. I don't see why the story couldn't have gotten massively bigger for one character as well. Not complaining. The switching is easy and it's good storytelling. Just wasn't one of the top selling points of the game for me personally.

We paid full price for what we expect to be a quality product (a product with the highest budget for a game ever). You just said that people should NOT expect every mission to be fleshed out and the best it can be. Why the hell not? It is not asking too much at all. If they focused less on that MP that people will eventually get bored off and focused on what got us hooked on GTA games (the amazing SP's / side activities) then sure they could have easily had 69 fully fledged missions instead of 49 fully fledged missions and 20 missions varying from 0.5 - 2.5 minute completion times. I find it absurd that people find it acceptable too have some great missions and other 'meh' missions with the 'meh' missions deliberately being 'meh' meh = short / bad - ok Edited October 9, 2013 by Thebull94
gnrdeth13
I dig it. Provides lots more flavor for the story. Not just one guy to center around for the entire campaign.

I find it absurd that people find it acceptable too have some great missions and other 'meh' missions with the 'meh' missions deliberately being 'meh' meh = short / bad - ok You're misunderstanding me. I did not in any way, shape or form say that people should not expect fully fleshed out missions. The missions in this game are awesome as it is, but what I am saying is that people should not expect there to be tons and tons of utterly fantastic missions while still being given in high numbers. The quality is what counts when you're starting something new with your next game (in this case the intro to 3 playable characters) and I'm saying that it would be a little bit too much to ask for the best missions in any game in history, in high numbers and also with all 3 characters. If you consider that then I'm sure you'd see that Rockstar went with the proper decision by keeping things simple and starting out with a lesser amount missions with the 3 characters while still making them really good (and some memorable) ones. They can of course expand the number of missions in the next game but this was an awesome starting point for the whole multiple characters thing. Now, bare in mind that these are all my opinions and thoughts so don't get your nips hot if you don't agree.
