Here's just a little issue I've had, not with the devs, but with the community. I play GTA because it's more about being strategic than precise with a gun. But these "run and gun" FPS fans seem to be hating on Aim-Assist as if there's no challenge. If that is the case, why am I killing the run and gun crowd so much even when they are using aim assist too?

Because I know how to be strategic and use the terrain to my advantage.

And to those who would say I'm whining because I'm simply not good enough for free aim. You're right, I suck at free aim, because I sustained nerve damage in my right arm from a car accident. So you think free aim is cheap, you're entitled to your opinion, but don't bitch when someone kills you with strategy rather than reflexes when the playing field is still even, and stop trying to turn GTA into a run and gun game like CoD.

Auto aim against NPCs? I don't have anything against that.

^Implying better guns don't offer an advantage in Free Aim^

 

Incorrect, I have taken down many machine gunners with an Uzi. Just be smart and you can avoid getting shot. If there were no skill involved, how does one person play so much better than others even when working with lesser weaponry?

Most likely because you camp behind cover all day long ;)

 

I hate these kind of cover systems, they allways result in campfest gameplay.

 

 

If there's a cover system like this one, there shouldn't be auto-aim (if the aim AND cover is automated, then what the hell is left for the player to do?)

 

I dont really care though, I just play free-aim modes as the cover system seems okay as long as there isn't auto-aim on top.

 

The combination of auto-aim + this coversystem just makes the game mindnumbingly boring

At the end of the day, if one has such superior skills, then auto aim would benefit them more than hinder them.

 

Bottom line is that its just GTA. Its not a shooter period. Its not a racer, period. Its just a platform for people to run around and act like racial slurs.

 

How much gd strategy is there in some of these team-based missions? If your strategy is anything other than camping out at the drop site, then you are an idiot.

 

IV had an option to set auto aim on/off. This should be an option...at least for death matches and GTA races.

 

Its just not one of those games that anyone can claim to be "good" at. And, if you are "good" at it, how proud is one really supposed to be of that? Do they get on their facebook pages and exclaim that they play video games to the extent of being "good" at one? Do people visit the family for the holidays and sit around telling their grandparents all of the things that they have accomplished....on GTA? Do most potential wives/girlfriends put out because one is wealthy.....on Nintendo? I think not.

I am usually a free aimer, but have been playing with some friends who use assisted aim. At first I kept getting killed like a noob. I actually did have to change my technique a little but I found it has actually helped my free aim technique

You don't handicap yourself when playing against other players. Some people enjoy a challenge, why would we need to kill ourselves because we don't want killing another player as simple as hit L2, flick up on controller, shoot in head?

Please speak English. I have no idea what you're even trying to say. And just so you are aware for future use... FPS stands for First Person Shooter. GTAO is not a first person shooter. It's a THIRD person cover and platform shooter.

This games auto sticky aim is absolutely absurd. I can't stand it.

Please speak English. I have no idea what you're even trying to say. And just so you are aware for future use... FPS stands for First Person Shooter. GTAO is not a first person shooter. It's a THIRD person cover and platform shooter.

Let's be honest. Both aim modes are pretty terrible. Free aim does not feel very responsive at all, and auto-aim is just bleh all around. I still have tons of fun playing in both aim modes somehow.
