Safe to create a character in second slot?

Hi All,

 

My Slot 1 character got deleted 3 days ago and I haven't created any character since then.

I don't feel my character is coming back but just for safety measures I am not creating a new character over the same slot yet.

Just wondering is it safe to create a character in slot 2 in this case?

Really feel like playing but don't want to ruin any chances of getting my character back.

 

Any advice is appreciated.

I contacted Rockstar about this, and they said to create a temporary character in Slot 2, so if my original character came back, it wouldn't be overwritten.

 

I did this 3 days ago and I've had zero problems so far, my original character hasn't returned, but my second character is at his level now anyway.

 

I'd go for it, because it's possible your character will never come back (Then again, it might. But it will be safe as long as you don't overwrite it) But at least you can create a new one, and at least play the game.

I wouldn't worry about a second character either, so long as you save correctly and everything. Rockstar have even put up messages on all the online loading screens telling you exactly what to do and what not to do.

i did this like 2 days after online launch, lost my character so create a new one to slot 2 in case my main come back but it never happens and now my main is slot 2 and never had problem

Same for me, 1st slot = character not saving. Haven't had any issues what-so-ever from my character in 2nd slot, have kept all my cars, apts, clothes, tats, money, etc...

This happened to me, i made a new one in second slot which got my money from deleted character.

 

Still going (so far). I don't think we'll ever see the lost ones again, they're all on an Island somewhere making a sh*t TV series..

Heard something about the new patch doing something about the character deleting-issue too. Can't confirm this though.

It might actually be better to be not able to confirm this, than confirming this to be not working.
