Racing alone for stats?

I need to win more races in order to unlock a turbo charger and I'm wondering if I can achieve this when alone? Sounds like a silly question but winning 16 in my class is hard when trying to find a game not only for that class but also a game where the racers don't try to run you off the road for kicks.

I don't think so, I Raced alone to because I Needed to win more but It didn't count.

Yeah, I raced alone as well to check it out and got quite a bit of RP, and it said I won the race, but my stats don't show I won any races.
