What i find interesting is how you say missions are repetitive and act like they aren't in GTA 5. GTA 5 missions basically consist of one of these or a combo of them: -kill a crap load of people in an area with lousy cover and hop you don't die from the one or two shot kills that happen a lot now -chase someone for 5 minutes -get away from someone I don't see much difference in GTA Online so it's odd you would like one and not the other. GTA 5 is basically a glorified fetch quest game. GTA 5 is IMO one of the most overrated games in history. I do like it mostly for the detail and huge map size and just being able to drive/fly/submarine around and it's a good game because of that yet no where close to all the love it gets. When it comes to doing missions/dealing with the story this game for the most part blows. GTA 5 has -mainly annoying/crappy characters -crappy dialogue unless you get off hearing the words "homie", "nigga", and "whatever" (in the idiotic apathetic slang form moron humans use like a disease now) over and over. -over the top voice acting -boring story -the same recycled GTA humour that mostly lost its amusement years ago. It's mainly sexual in nature and I guess if one is 15 they will still find it funny. -mostly lousy and frustrating missions that require you to drive halfway across the map every time and mostly require chasing someone -super cops -junky radio station song selection and way too many commercials If ANY other company made this game then I guarantee people would be criticizing it for the above yet since it is Rockstar they get the Apple-like pass for the issues. Red Dead Redemption destroys this game. Michael and Trevor are some of the best characters ever, you must've misunderstood the story and how well it developed into a tale of betrayal. Every single character I've seen so far isn't ugly. I'm pretty sure the point of the customisation was that they looked as natural as possible, instead of messing around with sliders for the width of the bridge of the nose and so on, which make it harder than it'd need to be in GTAO. Also, of course they don't speak - your character can be many different races and various mixes of all of them, either the few voices they had wouldn't fit or they'd spend too much time having voices for every single possible combination. Not to mention the multiplayer character is pretty much meant to be you, not a character - that's for SP. poor car controls ...Que? Sure, hate on the physics all you want since that's an easy matter of preference, but the controls are good. It's not hard to control, and it certainly isn't too easy. very few cars around Night time maybe? The number of cars is the same as SP, and that's a lot considering it's an open world game on current gen. Its very hard to get around the place, even if you avoid getting killed wah? Jack some cars, or even...use the one you start in after the race. wait ages for the clothing store to even open because it was night time. The clothes stores are open all the time, IIRC. Even if that's wrong, there's definitely plenty of time to get your ass to a clothes store (i.e. the one linked on your radar) as I did even after screwing around. I just don't get this part. go here and do this. As has pretty much every GTA mission. Since it's a vague statement it allows for a lot of stuff to do, but apparently going somewhere to do something is always tedious and boring. Deathmatches? Oh how exciting, not. You'd prefer they let them out? Races? With these controls, no thanks. Like I said, I don't get your dislike for the controls. For racing, even the physics are good. And I never played again. To most mentally stable people, it is completely allowed to voice your opinion on a discussion forum, especially when it is well written, constructive, and concise. Anyways... It's almost like you described my first hour as well. Forced intro cut scenes were lame, my character seemed totally out of place, and didn't even have a one word response for his "friend". I also completely agree about customization, it was clunky, and the options are piss-poor at best. The worst part about it all is the super cops. I like to lone wolf on a regular basis, and three star cops are almost impossible. Incoming "get good" comments. I'm over it. There's 100 other games to play. From my experience and what I've heard, all it involves is: go here and do this, with no story development. By level 100 you should be able to rob banks, you do missions with Trevor and some with martin madroza. At this point I had more fun playing rdr online. Hate being chased by trolls and aholes 5 minutes into the session. It seems getting a crew is the way to go.
