Is stealth a useless tool?

Recommended Posts

On one of the first missions in SP you are

given the stealth tutorial on how to click R3 then press B to knock someone out stealthily

. After that I saw no opportunity to even use the feature. And up to level 21 in Online, I've yet to be given an opportunity to use it again. I enjoy the chaotic missions where you go in all guns blazing but after a dozen missions of that I'd like to get some stealth missions. I am thinking if anyone would give me them it would be Lester. Then he had me

doing drive by grenade attacks on half the city's police force

so perhaps not.

Anyway, are there any stealth related missions coming up in GTAO? Don't be too specific as to avoid spoilers, I'd just like to know that they're there. Or not.

I am hoping the heist missions give a stealthy option rather than just being glorified convenience stores.

!!!END OF SINGLE PLAYER SPOILERS!!!

I'd also like to see something LIKE the

Union Depository

mission in SP. Very high gain but also high risk too (you have to invest a lot of money to afford to pull the job off). Also if the

Union Depository

itself were a mission, make it next to impossible so only an elite team could crack it. I'd love to see something like that.

Stealth can be used, especially if you do missions with no help from others. A few missions you can beat tacticaly and use a little stealth to help do it.

Silenced weapons and long range attacks are also usefull to pick off enemy one by one without alerting others.

Great post. I agree with Filipino stealth can be used somewhat in missions, but for the large majority of the time it is useless which is sad because of it's potential in this game.

In almost all of the missions I've done, the enemies are auto-tipped off by proximity triggers no matter how stealthily you are (Titan of a Job is a good example) which really sucks.

I hope they improve on this.

Being stealthy can not only help you lose your wanted level quicker but also hiding from other players.

You make less noise when you move, so in games like Deathmatch where blips are revealed by noise, this is a good stat to have.

Stealth in shooting also makes some of the missions a lot easier (sniper, scopes and silencers) especially the hideouts.

Noise can affect more than you think in GTA V.
