Dashboard or not?

So, after a few races (and a gained level or two), i've been stuck on the Quitting Session screen for about ten minutes now.

 

What should I do?

 

To make it clear, I do have other things I can be doing, I won't be sitting here watching the TV and waiting, so factor that in to your voting choice!

This has been happening to me 70% of the time when pressing O to exit from the vote screen. I left it for 30 minutes the first time and realised nothing was going to happen because timeout is more like 10 minutes. I have been dashboarding, QUIT GAME, and then reloading to single player > then loading multiplayer. I have had no problems doing this, I created an account just so I could tell you this. However, still do it at your own risk, check rockstar social club first and check your character is there. Hopefully others will have some input.

Yeah, haven't looked at RSSC yet, might do that right now actually -

 

K, character is still there, and it looks like he has the cash and RP from the races just finished, so should be sweet.

 

I'll leave it for now though, a break is good for my eyes, and i'll see what others have to say, thanks again mate!

So it's looking like dashboarding will be the way to go from your votes.

 

Will give it another ten minutes from now, and if the voting doesn't change, i'll dashboard and report back.

It seems to me that over the last couple of days the server hasn't been down at all, which would suggest something has been done on their end. This problem where you get stuck in the sky top down while it loads seems to have cropped up since then. Usually It'll give me the gta online newswire screen and the loading spinner in the bottom right.... after a minute or two I'll be able to hear a bit of voice chat from people in the session, then it'll go quiet and be stuck on this screen indefinitely. That is my experience, it may be a different problem.

At the end of the day if it doesn't progress or give you a timeout, you have no choice but to dashboard. I'm just trying to ease your worrying because it's happened to me, and by quitting game (not turning off console) I haven't run into any problems, no rollbacks and no deletion.

Yeah, I just thought I might as well give it a while, and make it a bit of fun for anybody interested lol

 

I had this sort of happen to me last night as well, but it only lasted about 5 minutes and dropped me into an empty session.

 

It's interesting what you said about the servers as well - to me, the whole experience has definitely been more stable the past day or two, but I hadn't had this crop up until now, so it may be that in tweaking the server side stuff new issues are cropping up.

Dashboard then restart is the only way I can get round it.
