So with all this "Nerfing", how will Heists work?

So of all this nerfing of these missions that give high payouts, how do you think they'll do heists?

First off how much do you reckon we'll even make in heists? Since everything is realistic in terms of cash amount, I wouldn't be surprised if it's 2 million for a bank job, 5-10 million for a bigger job.

But the issue is that you have to divide it with all your people (your gunners, your drivers, etc)

Meaning at the end of the day it might end up amounting to a 200-400K payout just for you.

Which isn't bad in itself.

But for one reason or another I feel like you will only be able to perform heists if your level 90 or above, and will only be able to perform heists once a day (not sure how they will program this though)

i dont think heist will need that high of a rank..i think i was lvl 20 when lester told me to get a high end appartment with a prep room for heists

Hm maybe 30 or so then.

Still, I'm curious how they will work.

Obviously rockstar is focused on limiting the payout so more cash cards will be sold. I'm wondering how they will do this.

It's either

A: Money will be limited once all divided up, and lost in the process of the case

B: You can only do a heist in so many game days, or when Lester gives you a phone call.

Man, I was a R* fanboy before all this... but this worries me. I'm afraid they're going the way of Capcom and EA. "Want full access to the disc you already paid for? Tough noogies. Give us more monies."

Oh, right. Only the best/fastest selling game ever, right? "WE DON'T CARE! MORE MONIES!"

f*cking game devs.

my guess, heists will give the crew a total of 50k-60k giving everyone a max of 10k, seeing as they are nerfing all the cash you can get now.

RogueMarsRover

Earn $150,000 after the cut.

Assumption:

Lester = 15% cut

Hacker = 15% cut

Dropped during chase/fight = 10%

Players = 15% (4 ppl)

After seeing R* actions, the party probably only able to grab $1M per job. And they will probably limit it to one heist per 24 hours.

Surprise me R*.

Well when you think about it...

1 billion in sales isn't really that much though..

Rockstar said that GTA V costed around 250-300 Million to create.

Now, say 300 million covers the development costs.

You still have to pay the Fee for the publisher and the printing costs.

You still have to pay a percentage to the outlets that are carrying and selling your games like Gamestop/Walmart/Target, etc...

You have to pay for advertising/tv commercials

You have to pay all your Rockstar North employees salaries.

You have to pay 10K for each and every patch your add onto psn/xbla

In the end it adds up.....

People who think heists are going to be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow are in for a rude awakening.

They'll be glorified missions with low, split amongst crew payouts that you'll either need a high level to do, limit of one per day/week, or a lot of up-front costs. Buy a bunch of $10,000 masks and $8,000 coveralls or something like that.

Cash cards will always be the best way to get real money whether we like it or not. No WAY they're giving out tens of millions per heist.

Although I agree that some of the missions the cheats rape to be given a less reward, I think it's pretty bad that you have to pay 2K in hospital bills if you die during a mission that only pays out 1K.

You do know end game content in other online games is a once a week deal :O

Shocking isn't it games where you pay £8.99 a month the dev's tell you you can only do end game stuff once a week

Do you know why? It slows the progression down

Do you think nobody will buy their game after the inital 1 billion they have made in sales on the first few days after release? There will be a sh*t loads of people getting the game for Xmas alone. Not everyone can afford the game on release day.

I have a feeling a certain amount of job points will be required to do a heist, to stop heists being farmed too (as these will likely have large payouts).

Make sense, as job points seem to have no use at the moment...

If I had to guess, Heists would be something that you have to invest in, and it could only be done once, meaning if you fail, you fail.

Also it would be, the more you invest into it, the bigger the pay out. So it would also be a gamble. but who knows, they could just end up being just like missions you can almost do solo.

Think with the mind of a buisness man, and not some video game fan.

As a buisnessbusinessman you would do the same..Not only to fund future capitol for your company, but assure stability with your Publisher (take 2).

It's a buisness move that works. Free To Play is huge, because there will always be that 1 kid who steals his moms credit card and just buys thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of microtransactions.

Look at farmville for instance, and it's once huge popularity. It's a known fact people WILL PAY for microtransactions. It's sad, but true. It's a huge buisness strategy, and the reason why developers choose it for there games is simply because IT WORKS, and just honestly SELLS A sh*t TON.

It would be kind of cool if the more heists you pull off the more of the chance of getting bigger heists. and once you fail one, you move all the way back to the lowest pay out heists. with you only being able to do a heist every 1 week game time.

You know what happened the last time videogames became more about getting product out there and making money fast, don't you? It was called the video game crash. I don't want this to be the cause of another one. But with EA, Capcom, and now R* going the way of microtransations nickel and diming us, it's coming. And I, for one, will welcome it.

When will people realise that R* is a business not your best friend...

You think all those servers, including their ongoing maintenance, pay for themselves ?

No-one is forcing you to buy cash cards...you can do it fine without, might just take a little longer.

What also makes me laugh is people complain about Micro-transactions but spend an extra £20-30 on Collectors Editions that come with cars, weapons, whatever...is that not the same thing ? (Yes I know you get a t-shirt, blueprint, and some other crap that's not worth the extra money either).

I guess the publishers coded in all the "Buy cash online" stuff then, huh? After it was handed off from the devs?

It's not about being friends. It's about being a decent dev/publisher (one of the last, it seems) that CARED about it's fanbase. GTA IV was a massive hit, and those servers are still going, without microtransactions to power them.

Nice try though.

And yeah, I did buy the collectors edition, complete with useless crap, because I SUPPORTED A GAME DEVELOPER THAT I THOUGHT GAVE A sh*t ABOUT IT'S FANS. Well, that sh*t is right the f*ck out now. I won't be making that mistake again.

Except that GTA V will have a lot more people online as it primarily based on online play this time round....hence why the SP was shorter than GTA IV. More online players means more servers which means more cost.

Also, GTA IV was just death matches, etc...these can be hosted by individual players , unlike the free-roam on GTA V which isn't.

Then there's the fact that GTA V cost more to develop than GTA IV...in a different financial climate.

Again though, no-one is forcing you to buy anything.

They've give you a great game that took them 5yrs to develop for £40....I think they've given you enough in return, what do you want ? Blood ?

You supported a game developer ? No you didn't... you bought their product because you like it. It's not as if you gave them a charitable donation. You bought it because you wanted to play it...not out of any loyalty.

Get your head in the real world...

Look, all this aside, here's how I look at it.

As a fan that's played since the top downs, I saw the returns, and the improvements, in each sequential edition. I saw the care, the input, things that let me know they cared about their fanbase.

Now, they're just sh*tting on all of that, all of that cred and loyalty they built, just for a few extra bucks. It could damage future GTAs, basically the whole legacy.

Kind of like Capcom with Street Fighter. It was one of, if not THE best fighters on the planet. It had a fanbase so big it blocked out the sun. But since Street Fighter 4, where you have to pay to unlock characters, costumes, and other assorted BS, they've gotten quite the reputation, and fans rebelled in droves.

Enough to hurt them financially? Not right now, no. Of course not. But in the future... people rarely forget. Especially the obsessed, like ourselves. Look at the failure that was the XBone reveal. That will show you right quick how fans can turn on you on a dime if you betray their trust.

I bought the collectors edition to give them support, you dink. I didn't have to, as the extras were all pretty sh*tty, but I did so happily to support my once favorite developer.

So get your head out of my ass and move along.
