Why farm to level up?

So I get why some folks 'farm' to raise cash because they are impatient but why do folks farm to level up?

What will levelling up give you when your only going to play the same mission over and over instead of exploring new missions ranking up gives you?

If its the ability to buy other guns well they can be picked up.

I find it staggering that people are only playing 1% of online when the other 99% of it you haven't explored at all.

Each to their own but your missing out.

Because masturbation is easier than going to find a real relation with someone...

I agree. Knowning that you only got a high rank because you RT'ed your way to it isn't an accomplishment.

Stop telling people how to have fun. If they want to farm, let them farm.

The only people that I consider whiners are you crybabies that got the game ruined for half of it's players.

Chill your f*cking beans farm boy. I was merely asking a legitimate question. You'll see from my op I said each to their own, I couldn't give a sh*t if folk farm, I'll still put them down with an assault rifle haha.

What have you gained level wise from farming by the way? Do you have anything I don't have?

I'm level 48-ish and I've only farmed a little, honestly. I mainly do it for car mods. I've got a car/bike for nearly every type of race available because I like using my own cars in races.

Most of my time is spent racing, though I really want more people to start playing tennis without quitting like little bitches when I ace them 7 times.

My point is, WHO CARES? It's not harming you. It's not hindering your experience in any way, right? So why should anyone care? It's just seriousy crybaby whining, imo.

Again its not whining. I've seen a zillion posts on here saying hosting blah blah to level up. Just trying to get a point of view from the farmers as to why they constantly replay certain missions to level up. What are their main goals? Surely playing the same mission over and over lessens the fun had the more times its played?

I don't know. I am enjoying the racing but mainly been put in lobbies with custom cars turned off.

me i like free roam. i dont like having stuff in free roam blocked so i farm/grind until i get the toys i want then i can go enjoy the game as i please. it was stupid by rockstar to make the game a tedious grind in the first place. (yes its a grind trust me you will be playing every mission multiple times on your way up even if you dont RT. there just not that many missions really.

I've had a ton of fun doing different missions with my crew and repeating them with the crew so my friends can progress with the missions too. But we've never purposely replayed a mission we've all done anyway.

Basically the idea of leveling up quicker is to get access to more missions, its not like you get multiple new ones each level that will carry you over to the next, if that was the case it would be fine. The problem is the higher the mission you do its rare you get an increase in cash or RP rewards from all of them, at least other mmorpg's give higher rewards for each and every level you gain where as GTA missions go up and down the higher you go logic seems to have escaped mission reward planning :D

Some people like to get there before eveyone else.

I was not really all that high ranked before my character was "lost". I really just wanted to get back what i lost.

Fair point. But its not like there are 20 virgins ready for them at the end of their repetitive grind.

I'd say let them keep farming because they would just end up quitting the game faster... But we know :r*: doesn't want that.

I think people "farm" (repeatedly do the same quick and easy tasks for high XP/cash turnover) so that they can be the first to get the best things, so that they don't feel left behind. They want it all. They want it now. And they want to be the first (the only.)

The game should control this irrational feeling by grouping similar levelled players together throughout the experience (which it kind of does) and emphasising an individual free journey and free expression through the game.

A perfect online game should make everyone feel like they are the main character in the game, while also motivating structured cooperation and/or conflict.

I just want to show I'm superior to everyone with my virtual wealth even if it means exploiting the game.
