To answer the OP, because buying the cards has been down every since I have been Online.

I don't mind paying a small amount to get the 1.2 million as I don't have the time most of these other people apparently do. Farming missions over and over again, sorry, not fun to me.

I want my 10 car garage so i can start collecting cars.

im going to be buying cards for the game without a second thought. I used to play APB and this is normal. I dont play all day every day as I have business to run and family to talk to. I will be buying the sh*t hot cars, big house and all the fluff i can muster from the cards (as soon as i can get my hands on them that is nas they seem to be down all the time!)

No, wanna be big boy. Heres what youre gonna do..

 

-Buy an apartment 700,000 other people already have

-Buy 2-3 of the 5 super cars you'll actually have unlocked (which by the time cards become available EVERYONE will have fully souped up) and then get them constantly blown up by trolls because they know you dont have armor upgrades at your low level nor the accuracy to deter them and constantly get beat in races because you dont have the levels for engine upgrades (nor will you ever get them).

-Buy a couple of clothes that most level 5's are wearing

-Decide that "Hey, I made a mistake being an arrogant prick" and try to do missions which you'll find damn near impossible because even with your auto-aim (no surprise) on you'll still have little more than a pistol and no intelligence to use cover.

-Look dumb af and sale GTA because you've realized that Pay-To-Win doesnt work on here like youre used to.

-Tell everyone the game sucks and end up losing the few friends you have.

 

Also, while running an Ebay wholesale business may be legit and net you somewhere around minimum wage, I wouldnt go around bragging just because you put your family name on it lol. That is all.

I'm not willing to spend that much for in-game cash. I love the game, but that is too much. Farming is much easier and I get more enjoyment out of that than I would be with my credit card.

Online has been out 9 days and theres players already past lvl 100.. if you consider GTA:O to be a kind of MMO it will possibly hve the shortest life span in existence.. due to farming. considering that R* have long term plans and updates in mind for the game, if things carried on like they are now who would be around to play them.

 

R* could have made online a subscription based service and still would have made more money than they will likely get from microtransactions, they arent a shortcut by any means as you gain no RP and cant buy higher end stuff anyway.. and when you do manage to unlock them you will probably have a nice chunk of cash from doing the missions anyway.

 

And for the people that keep saying there nerfing this and that and not fixing the other more serious issues such as character deleting and other glitches because they only want their hands in your wallet.. changing the parameters of a mission takes very little effort compared to tracking the causes of a glitch be it in the programming or their network infrastructure.

 

then theres the yet to be determined factor of the Heists i.e, the payout, the level required, will job points factor into it (they do nothing else!) people buying the cards wont gain any of that.

 

The game has been out for little over a week calm your tits and see how it pans out before jumping up and down and throwing your faeces all over the place, or you know just stop playing the game instead of complaining about it.

 

Call me a rockstar fanboy if you like but forming such strong opinions and hatred based on very little facts is just not all that wise.

Will definetely buy cash cards when they're available , IMO having lots of money through cash cards doesn't take the fun away because you still have to rank up ( which is awesome , I ain't a "rank whore" anyway ) but farming is cheap as f*ck...the poor man's way.I don't give a sh*t about not owning a tank , at least for now , but it's fine with 12 years old kids rushing to buy one and kill other players because that makes you sooooo cool...not..not even in your digital based life.By the way , stop acting like you bought a Lamborghini/Ferrari and that R* should hire top dollar hookers to "massage" you while playing Grand Theft Auto...you just bought a 60$ game and that's that , + or - those 60$ doesn't mean anything to anyone , it's not a lifechanger for sure.

i agree with you. i preordered gta 5 even before i knew about online. im very happy that its free with the game. im waiting until the first major patch though to play again when they add hiests. oh and people dont forget those...when they add them they will most likely pay out a decent amount. like 100-200k probably depending on the mission.

I've done the hard work believe me but after I lost my 128k apt I said I'll just wait for the saving issue to be fixed ( before I buy another property - it's okay I'm not pissed at all they said they will be server issues - happy I haven't lost my character *knocks on wood* ) and the cash cards to be available so I can buy the 391k apt..but when we speak about cars/car mods and guns/gun mods I will TRY to achieve them by hard work altough I won't stress myself everyday to raise 20-50k for a specific mod and MAYBE I'll skip ahead and press buy on a cash card.

I like the cash cards idea after all. They made them cheap enough that it doesn't just feel like a cash grab. Some game companies would have made the apartments and super cars as DLC, but Rockstar basically gave the option to either buy them or earn them. Personally I like having the option to just buy enough cash for the most expensive apartment, instead of farming the same mission over and over. In the end, maybe I will just earn them anyway, or farm them. Nice to have options.

I was thinking about it I'm actually a huge supporter of it But the way they are going bout it is miserable I haven't seen something this bad since an IGG game.

 

I was fine with it while it was an optional thing, Now it's mandatory and they are showing it in the most disgusting way like nerfing missions and releasing all these patches to stop you from getting cash while you are still having ingame. They are basically saying we don't care if your characters are gone, We don't care if you can't log in to the game, We don't care if the cloud servers are down BUT we do care that you are getting money and we will put a stop to that right now this second it's the highest priority.

I farmed because I wanted to get my 2nd slot character up to the rank my first slot character was before I lost him. Replays = fastest way for me to do it.

I have the 400K apartment, a level 2 upgraded Buffalo and a Carbonazf*ckoffitsaferrari (195K) and the only thing I've ever farmed is 13 races to unlock some performance mods because me and a friend had some time to kill. Fair enough, R* shouldn't PRIORITIZE getting rid of farming, but it's gone. Stop playing or get over it. Either way, stop complaining.

 

If you don't support cash cards, don't buy them. This game isn't pay to win and won't be, you get more than enough cash for doing decent paying missions such as Lester's.

However I disagree with the "f*ck all on GTAO." It was packaged with the game. It was just disabled while they put the finishing touches on.
