Why not just buy a cash card instead of farming?

I may purchase some cash down the road. For now however I've been making plenty of money without farming. I'm curious to see what they have in store for us after they add in the creator and heists.

I'd been planning to just buy a 20 dollar cash card to get an apartment and sports car.

But I don't think it will be necessary. My buddy and I have done a great deal of racing to level up, and it pays very well.

Once the stock market starts working, that will be a passive way to multiply money.

And eventually there will be heists.

The good apartments are all 400k or less. Sports cars top out at a million don't they, and I don't especially like the Bugatti looking one.

One race cycle gives 5000 dollars to the winner and nearly 3000 to the loser, along with 1500rp and I think 900rp at the level where we're at. I assume since these rewards have been scaling, they'll be even higher later. I can only imagine what the payout for winning an 8 person race is, and every single 8 person race has a winner...

All this without abusing mission glitches.

Races are always equally fun and engage your attention fully.

You have to level to open items to buy anyway, no point imo.

You can level up fast by doing solo races, but you don't get money for them.

Someone who doesn't have the time or video game playing friends to race with can still do solo races to level up, and then fund purchases with cash cards. Someone like an adult, or someone with a job.

FARMING IS FUN AND IM NOT A CASH COW ROCKSTAR CAN MILK ALL DAMN DAY f*ck THAT IM SELLING MY COPY

You're just a repetitive cow.

Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo <R2> Moooooo

That is your life now.

Yeah but I enjoy doing it. What I won't enjoy is playing hours and hours just to make 100k after it's patched.

Because I already paid for the goddamn game. I even bought the collectors edition.

f*ck, for that much money they should have given me a free cash card. I'd gladly trade the stupid as sh*t hat and useless moneybag I got for some in game cash.

Long story short; I will not support this method of nickel and diming a gamer for content already on the disc they bought. That's some EA and Capcom sh*t right there, and I'll have none of it.

This. Not a penny more until I get my moneys worth, which I feel I HAVEN'T yet. When Rockstar pays up, THEN I'll think about reciprocating with some continuing business to give them. Until they, they can kiss the ass end of my controller.

20 bucks get you a 1.5 million cash card...a tank cost 1.5 million I have never seen a game with a 20 dollar dlc vehicle some of the super cars are pretty pricey too I think. I don't seem to have a problem earning money when I find a mission that pays good sure I might replay it once or twice then move on, don't know if that's considered farming or not but really I don't care....I would do the same mission over and over and over if it wasn't boring as sh*t....im not in it to become the richest person in gta im in it because its fun and during my fun I happen to make money. and as far as the violent duct farming goes ...that mission is sh*t ive played missions that are soooooo much easier and pay soooo much more but I guess all the violent ducters aren't that far yet

Because I am not a too big fan of microtransactions. Also, because I almost feel entitled to receive a free cash card now, for all the time I lost and I will still lose between Oct 1st and whenever they finally fix this damn Alpha state online mode.

And because I am or should be perfectly capable of getting said money via normal play. And if Rockstar makes the payouts so crappy as to keep us in the negatives, MTs would be the least of my problems. It would become a moral issue and I`d rather not play than pay.

To be honest, cash gets spent way too quickly (that's a really good thing, by the way) to make buying a cash card worthwhile. If I buy a $100k card, I can spend that in a matter of minutes. $250k and $500k can also be spent terrifyingly quickly. I could probably spend close to 500 on a single vehicle. So that leaves me with the $1,250,000 card. So let's see. Top apartment - $433k. Some cars to fill the 10-car garage and money to mod them - oh f*ck I'm out of cash.

Yeah. Not to mention if, for example, you really wanted the Z-Type, that's $950k right out the window, leaving you with barely any of the original sum.

Of course, ammo is expensive and you need to buy a lot of it, so there's that too. Many times I've finished a run of jobs and come back into freemode with $50k+ which rapidly turned into $5k after a trip to Ammu-Nation.

And all of that rapidly wasted money would cost me £13.49. Not really worth that kind of expense. I'd be much happier just making that cash by playing the game. I'd be almost scared to spend my money if it had cost me real cash. As it is, I have much more fun pissing away my dollars on tattoos, clothes and car mods.

This. R* will definitely have to make adjustments to in game purchases or adjust the amount you get for $20 (!). Someone made the very noticeable observation that the tank will cost you $20 as it stands now.

IM SELLING MY COPY

So... you do understand that Rockstar already got the $60 you paid for it, right? They aren't losing anything when you sell your copy.

You're the only one who loses.

Here's how microtransactions work:

It starts off small, something like cosmetics and such. In GTAOnline's version, it starts off with money right off the bat. But that's okay, because RP supposedly limits you, right? Hardly. Minigun and tank are the only two things people care about that you have to unlock at the later levels. You can get high end cars at rank 2 for all you care.

But let's say you support Rockstar by dishing out cash for ingame cash. Then it progresses onto buying RP. Soon enough you end up paying money just to revive or play a heist each time, like one of those arcade games you can play when waiting for a movie.

Then you end up being able to buy stuff exclusive to only those who pay for it, e.g. the best weapons, cars, and armor. It only gets worse from there.

Or, you could just not support microtransaction bs and end it there.

You could have just gotten the regular copy and used the money you saved to buy in-game money. Basically the same thing as trading your hat and money bag.

I will be buying a cash card £7 for 500k? Instead of coming home from work and doing the same mission over and over for hours I could stay at work for half an hour extra and cover the cost easily. Time=money playing the same mission 30 times can't be much fun, modding cars however...

This would have been a nice post 10 years ago. Now, it is already proven that MTs work and they are the future. Let`s be clear - I don`t like this future, but I`m not insane enough to not see and accept it.

We can only hope it won`t turn into the f*ckfest EA is.

At the very least, what we CAN do is boycott Rockstar sales. Which never works with this "community". So, you and me can boycott it :p And I`m fairly convinced you won`t :) .

The funny thing about cash cards is that you spend so many hours doing violent duct that even if you were making minimum wage you've wasted far more than just buying a cheapo card for a few million. LOL

I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO, BUT MY WEBCAM IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.

A genuine question! Aren't the cash cards cheap? Why not just buy a cash card and get say the best apartment?

$100,000 Red Shark Cash Card – £1.99

$200,000 Tiger Shark Cash Card – £3.49

$500,000 Bull Shark Cash Card – £6.99

$1,250,000 Great White Shark Cash Card – £13.49

Is £7 a lot of money for something you'd enjoy for maybe a year or more?

Well if you ask me, Farming not only gets you cash but also xp. some stuff you cannot buy even if you have the cash without being the right level anyway.

One thing I'm hating is everyone saying: "I won't buy anything from Rockstar until I get what I paid for".. you paid for GTA V, GTA: Online came free with it, you should be happy that we didn't get GTA IV's multiplayer again - GTA: Online is a whole other game so you can stop complaining, GTA V was worth the £40 I spent on it and with GTA: Online (even though I lost my character) it's icing on the cake.

I will probably buy a cash card simply because I lost all my progress, and because I want an Entity XF as my personal vehicle :D

You dont get XP for buying cards. You'll have an apartment, a bunch of food, a pistol with 500 rounds and a bunch of crap cars that can be beat by anyone with a sense of grind once they visit LS Customs. $$ is not an issue for me 1 bit, but I prefer to just work at my goals.. In my opinion $ is the best thing R* did for this game, as I can actually work to make things happen for not only me but for my crew. I hate stuff being handed to me and I've always lived like this. Anyone who takes pride in their accomplishments will agree.

im going to be buying cards for the game without a second thought. I used to play APB and this is normal. I dont play all day every day as I have business to run and family to talk to. I will be buying the sh*t hot cars, big house and all the fluff i can muster from the cards (as soon as i can get my hands on them that is nas they seem to be down all the time!)

There's a good boy, you continuously fund rockstar so we can get more new content and not pay a penny for it as by the time most of the new content hits many of us will be millionaires from just playing the game normally.

Yeah, I guess you didnt get the memo about online.. You can take 2 million dollars in real life $ and buy as many cash cards as you want.. You can pump that nice little in-game account up to 16 trillion if you desire, but at the end of the day you STILL have to do missions in order to buy stuff. You have to be what? Level 100 to buy a tank I believe.. And even at my level I cant buy half the luxury cars on there as they're still locked to me.

Because in all honesty they probably only patched farming to push people to the cash cards and will use the masses of people bitching about farming as their publicly stated reason. They were losing potential profits to people grinding up on mission restarts and they may think by taking that away they'll force people who want wads of spending cash in their digital account to buy cash cards. In which case I hope the majority responds in kind by just finding more exploits and not spending a cent on cash cards, as I don't think many people were fans of them from the start. I sure as hell wouldn't buy some little cash doddle from a company who paid more attention to punishing people (who likely lost cash and characters due to the bugged release anyways) than fixing what was wrong with the game, that's EA type sh*t.

No, wanna be big boy. Heres what youre gonna do..

-Buy an apartment 700,000 other people already have

-Buy 2-3 of the 5 super cars you'll actually have unlocked (which by the time cards become available EVERYONE will have fully souped up) and then get them constantly blown up by trolls because they know you dont have armor upgrades at your low level nor the accuracy to deter them and constantly get beat in races because you dont have the levels for engine upgrades (nor will you ever get them).

-Buy a couple of clothes that most level 5's are wearing

-Decide that "Hey, I made a mistake being an arrogant prick" and try to do missions which you'll find damn near impossible because even with your auto-aim (no surprise) on you'll still have little more than a pistol and no intelligence to use cover.

-Look dumb af and sale GTA because you've realized that Pay-To-Win doesnt work on here like youre used to.

-Tell everyone the game sucks and end up losing the few friends you have.

Also, while running an Ebay wholesale business may be legit and net you somewhere around minimum wage, I wouldnt go around bragging just because you put your family name on it lol. That is all.
