Bullsh*t, how I suppose now to catch up the whole lvl 100+ players with 1.000.000.000$+??

This.

It's not fair how the game's been nerfed so early. All those players that never had any problems with character deletion are miles ahead of everyone while gaining money and leveling up feels so much slower now. At this rate it'll be almost impossible to catch up.

No not this

THERE IS NO f*ckING ECONOMY IN THIS GAME, IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH SOME ONE HAS, IT WILL NOT MAKE THE PRICES OF ANY ITEM IN GAME CHANGE IT'S PRICE, STOP f*ckING BITCHING ABOUT A NON f*ckING ISSSUE

Honestly, I'm not sure why people keep trashing on Rockstar. First off when you compare it to companies like, Ubisoft, Activision, EA, Arenanet, Blizzard. This isn't out of place or even as bad as these companies.

1. Rockstar charges money for people who don't want to "grind" as you guys put that. I have news for you... it's OPTIONAL! *gasp* This is no different than almost any game out there. Here is a quick list that does that as well: EA sports games like NHL, Guild Wars 2, Forza games, Battlefield. The list could go on, but I just wanted to point out this happens in tons of genres of games.

2. Rockstar doesn't even give players and advantage for buying money. At least not really. Sure you get an apartment quicker, but you aren't buying rank. If you want to buy all the gun upgrades, you pretty much can at the same time you rank up. Sure your guy may not afford a nice jacket like the person who bought money, but you aren't at a disadvantage. Besides the deathmatch games have weapon drops, the upgrades a minimal and in order to get good weapons you need to... Yep you guessed it. RANK up.

3. DLC will be FREE. At least from what I read. Other companies not only charge you for game money like rockstar, but then they want you to buy every DLC pack. Now maybe this isn't going to be true. I'm only going off the forums. But regardless this is way better than other companies.

4. Playing the game isn't a grind! I don't know about the rest of you, but when I play I play for fun. I don't feel any need to buy the most expensive car or apartment right away. I find it fun to play golf with friends. Watch the TV. Go to the movies. Race around. Do missions. What is this so called grind? Do you guys not enjoy deathmatch or racing? If so why are you even playing? Do you really only play for that virtual apartment? If so, I mean this in the kindest way possible. GET A LIFE! IF you aren't having fun, don't play. Since when is someone holding a gun to your head demanding you grind out money to get an apartment?

5. Did you play the single player? If so why? You don't start with everything in the game in single player, so why did you play? I don't see how its any different. I played for fun, unlocked stuff. Kept playing and having fun, unlocked more stuff. Sure rockstar could have had an option for me to spend 10$ in real life to unlock everything from the start, but I wouldn't have used it there either.

If Rockstar are so greedy why did they take down their cash packs so fast? GTA Online is a huge online service and to keep it going whilst adding new content every couple of weeks they need money.

The took down the cash packs because of legal issues associated with having cash packs and oh, say a huge bug like random character deletion. Imagine the issues and the press if they had cash packs still in and say awhile lot of people bought them, then bought apartments and cars and with those cash packs. And then one day log in and see their character was suddenly gone with all those things they bought disappearing.

Suddenly people would be talking about how Rockstar stole their real world money instead of just losing some character progress.

Revelation2106

Why would they want players to earn millions within the first few weeks? That would completely remove the point of having playable heists if everyone is already filthy rich.

Anyone that claims R* are using people as cash cows for this reason is just plain stupid. Seriously, if they wanted you to give them money they wouldn't have disabled the cash cards while the game is "broken". You people are ungrateful and whiney f*cks.

If you want an example of money-grabbing companies just look at EA or Activision, maybe then you'll realise that R* are nothing compared to them

Or just play normally and not grind like some obsessive fa**ot.

Define "normal".

Because normal is a word that is subjective to each and every individual. Your normal may be someone elses abnormal.

well said.

There is plenty of stuff to spend money on that you could easily burn through Millions as of right now and am sure there will be more and even more expensive stuff down the road. Not to mention other stuff that has not be talked that I am sure are in plans for us to spend money on. There are already in game rent, and there will probably be more money such of other things we buy.

Plus we have not idea what the pay for "heists" will be for all we know with keeping with how low the pay for missions is you won't get more than 100 thousand per heist, not millions.

Hmm. Not sure about the legal grounds. EA used to sell boosts in their NHL video games. These boosts improved your online player attributes, however players could prove many of the attributes didn't even work at all. For some reason they still sold them to fools and got away with it. Obviously the press would care about GTA V a little more, but my point is companies like EA have sold "DLC" that hasn't worked in the past, never fixed it and got away with it.

You sure nobody has filed class action law suits against game companies for this sort of thing?

There is a difference in selling a dlc that may or may not work the way people thought it was suppose too, such as changes in attributes that may or may not of meant anything. Which EA could have rationalized such as cosmetic and not an actual game play change. Kind of like buying cloths, in some games.

There is a difference between that and selling in game money to buy stuff in game that suddenly gets "lost", deleted by a major bug in the game.

Grinding was playing normally for me kinda bullsh*t they want to make more money. Was the billions they made so far not enough? Talk about GREEDY

It makes me laugh that people complain about Rockstar being greedy because they make large sums of money by making it tougher for players to "grind", so that they can greedily make large sums of money.

I call hypocrisy!

I would argue that's just semantics. Both don't have an impact on game. (Actually at least GTA should have impacted game.) If EA is saying spent 5$ and your guy will be faster in game. And then it does nothing, I think that's even worse. (You were also suppose to be able to unlock this in game by other means, but of course there was a "bug" preventing this.) But yes, I suppose the corporate lawyer of EA could say "It changed from a lock symbol to an unlock symbol. Your money was spent correctly." A ridiculous argument, but hey its EA. They'll find a way to take your money and keep it!

Obviously I think Rockstar is doing the right thing and probably the legal thing. My only point was EA did it. Got away with it. Now maybe if Rockstar thought they could get away with it they would too, but there is no point in speculation. Either way, I ultimately agree that Rockstar removed cash packs as a business decision. (More bad press, maybe a lawsuit, etc.) It just may have been a smarter less greedy decision that rival companies may have made ha ha.

I really do not want to defend EA. I am they screwed me over big time when I bought Simcity this year, after that horribal experince I have not been back.

Problem is GTA online has been giving me a similar bad taste lately expecially after my character was "lost". He was only rank 27 but it still sucked, not to mention the assist on him that are gone.

And with the nerfing of game play, mission rewards and such. Just does not look good.

The game was never designed to get millions in a matter of hours. The faster you understand this concept, the better.

I think Rockstar is totally justified in doing this.. In fact I think they should've stopped the farming sooner. Also I think they should reset all the people who sat there hitting R2 knowing it's an Exploit. People complain like it's hard to make money.. It's not hard Rob a store steal a few cars help friends with missions do survival. I know omg these things might take skill, but you make good money. Also it's FUN!

To the dude who says farming the same mission over, and over again is fun to you GREAT! I don't think they should take repeating missions out of the game just the payout! You should be able to do the mission 1000 times if you want just only get paid for the first win! ( Or get paid whenever helping a friend get past the mission.) This is how the game is intended to work you can't just do the last heist in the game to get the 150 million dollar golf course can you? No, and thats because your only supposed to get paid ONE TIME. Sure you can repeat it as many times as you want to improve your game or just for the heck of it!

So you should be able to do whatever mission you want over, and over again. Just make it so you only get paid for doing it the first time or helping someone with thier first time through the mission. It seems like an easy fix to me! All that being said I'm glad they patched the money exploits, and hope they continue to do so. I also for the love of god hope they reset all the people who exploited the crap out of it.

I do not begrudge Rockstar from making some money off of their game, I do not want to feel like a cash cow to be milked though.

At the end of the day if u dont want to be a cash cow and buy it you dont have to, thats if they do end up charging us for extra content at some point but then again i cant think of many games were the dlc's are free.

Well there are a few things they have already said they will give us for free in DLC, but I think they are things they intended to have in the game at launch. After they release the things they stated we're gonna be a free DLC I'm sure they will have future content you will have to pay for.

I like GTA online and I like how they try to make it at least somehow hard/challenging. I don't grind stuff, just play the way I want and in a week length of playing I got about 350 000 - 400 000 $ doing things I enjoy. The only complaint I have is the "american dream" trophy not popping up after buying a flat for 205 000 $ but I hope they will fix it at some time.

P.S.

whining weiners are in all forums, I just hope Rockstar won't start to dumb this game down.

The best solution would have been to keep the replay button after the mission, but remove the cash reward for replaying it...

I've replayed Violent Duct a couple of times, but i got bored quickly and prefer just playing as intended - i don't find it that hard to make cash either, $3,000 every 30 mins for selling cars, $1,500 every 10 minutes robbing stores, + any missions that you do, i'd say it's quite decent money.

But then again, i'm not saving up for one of the huge apartments - i see no benefit to them besides the garages, just buy several cheap ones :p

If R* really was trying to milk you then they'd charge for DLC too...

They also would make properties a lot more expensive than the current 90 - 400k price range.

With hospital bills, etc, they've just tried to add a bit of risk into the game...like any other MMO.

Jesus, I played Eve Online for 2 yrs...in that game it's possible to lose EVERYTHING to another player. Either by scam, attack, or whatever.

Losing 2k which took you 5 mins to make is nothing !!
